Meghan Markle’s Next Move: A Memoir about Confronting the Royal Family
After the release of Prince Harry's memoir “Spare” earlier this year, people have been eagerly awaiting Meghan Markle's next project in her publishing deal with Penguin Random House.
With a reported worth of $35-40 million, the four-book deal has left many curious about what the former royal has planned.
Now, it seems that Meghan Markle is fully intending to write her own book, drawing inspiration from her invite to King Charles' coronation in May.
Royal commentator Joshua Romm believes that the momentous royal event would provide great material for Meghan's memoir.
He explains, “They need to continue their links to the institution.
They've planned to have future projects.
Meghan reportedly has a book in the works.
What better material than a coronation where they're confronting the past, after everything that's going on, and they're confronting the royal family head-on at a pivotal moment.”
However, Romm also acknowledges that Meghan and Harry are mindful of their reputations, especially as the Hollywood elite reportedly starts to distance themselves from the couple, including figures like Oprah.
The royal family is allegedly concerned that anything they say to Meghan and Harry could be sold for profit.
The Sussex duo has been open about their experiences within the royal family, from Netflix documentaries to Spotify podcast deals, and now Prince Harry's autobiography.
These revelations have caused troubles for the couple, with William and Catherine reportedly keeping their distance and not sharing any information with them.
Columnist Louise Roberts expresses the fear surrounding Meghan and Harry's potential comments after the coronation, stating, “Who knows what they'll say after they leave the UK and go back to America after the coronation.
Everyone's terrified.
Everything's for sale.
Every indiscretion or every aside comment could be magnified for an American audience in order to get them a profit.”
While Prince Harry has denied any plans for a sequel to “Spare,” rumors suggest that he may release bonus material in the paperback edition.
An insider claims that Prince Harry is considering adding at least one new chapter to address the royal backlash he and Meghan Markle have faced.
However, a representative for the Prince has denied these claims, and the release of the paperback edition has yet to be announced.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Prince Harry revealed that the first draft of “Spare” was a massive 800 pages, which he had to significantly cut down to 400 pages.
He admitted leaving out many things, particularly regarding his relationship with his brother and father, fearing they would never forgive him if certain facts were revealed.
Meanwhile, a spoof biography of Prince Harry titled “Spare Us, a Haredi” is being released, parodying his best-selling memoir.
The book promises to delve deep inside the castle walls and expose every shouting match, fist fight, betrayal, teddy bear, awkward hug, and tear-stained wedding rehearsal.
It criticizes the Duke of Sussex's decision to reveal intimate details about his life and private conversations while also seeking a more private existence away from the prying eyes of the British press.
As Meghan Markle prepares to write her own book, all eyes are on her next move.
Will she use her invite to King Charles' coronation as inspiration for her memoir?
Only time will tell what revelations await in her future project.
