Meghan Markle’s Half-Sister Plans to Sue for Defamation Following Bombshell Emails

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, faces yet another challenge as her half-sister vows to sue her for defamation.

Explosive emails have recently come to light, revealing that she assisted in briefing the authors of the biography “Finding Freedom.”

The Mail on Sunday newspaper disclosed details of Meghan's letter to her father, Thomas, 77, resulting in a breach of privacy and copyright ruling against the publication.

However, the Sunday Times reports that family members and a trusted lawyer have advised Meghan to drop the case due to frustration over the fallout.

Samantha, who shares the same father as Meghan, Thomas Sr., claims that they had a normal family life.

She believes that Meghan wanted to portray them as estranged and separated in order to discredit them and keep them away from her wedding.

Samantha is now preparing to launch lawsuits against her sister in both the UK and the US.

She accuses Meghan of falsely briefing the authors of the controversial book and plans to meet with her legal team to discuss potential charges of defamation, libel, slander, and breach of privacy.

Samantha expressed shock when Meghan apologized to the Court of Appeal after the disclosure of emails contradicting her claim that she had not collaborated with the co-authors of “Finding Freedom.”

A royal source revealed that there is frustration within the royal family, as many people had advised against pursuing the case.

The Court of Appeal recently heard submissions from the Mail on Sunday's parent company, Associated Newspapers, seeking to set aside an earlier High Court ruling.

Meghan's lawyers, however, oppose the appeal, and a ruling is expected at a later date.

The messages, provided by Jason Knauf, the Duchess's former communications secretary, show that Meghan shared details about Samantha and their brother, Thomas Jr., and asked him to pass them on to the book's authors, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.

In these messages, Meghan urged Knauf to state that her siblings had dropped out of high school and that she had no relationship with them.

She also mentioned that Samantha changed her name back to Markle and began creating stories for the press after Meghan started dating Prince Harry.

Samantha disputes several of Meghan's claims and plans to sue for defamation in the US and breach of privacy in the UK.

Samantha, who uses a wheelchair due to her multiple sclerosis, clarified that she has never lost custody of any children.

She also refuted Meghan's claim that she changed her name only after meeting Harry, stating that she had shared her name change documents long before that.

Samantha believes that the messages to Jason Knauf serve as evidence of libel and slander against her and that Knauf himself can be subpoenaed.

She described her sister's motto as “anything to keep this family quiet” and expressed her dismay over the situation.

In addition to these legal battles, Meghan and Harry are reportedly considering hiring crisis PR expert Howard Bragman, who has worked with both accusers and accused in the #MeToo movement.

Bragman is highly sought-after in the US, but neither he nor the Sussexes have responded to requests for comment.

As Meghan Markle continues to face mounting challenges, her half-sister's determination to pursue legal action adds another layer of complexity to an already tumultuous situation.
