Meghan Markle’s Distant Family Shocked to Discover Royal Connection Before Wedding
In an astonishing turn of events, some of Meghan Markle's distant family members recently discovered their relation to the Duchess of Sussex just before her wedding to Prince Harry.
The Raglins, Markle's cousins on her mother's side from Georgia, spoke with Inside Edition about their surprising revelation.
During an interview with Inside Edition senior correspondent Les Triant, the Raglins confirmed that they had only learned of their connection to Meghan Markle shortly before her wedding.
They watched the ceremony together and expressed their hope of one day welcoming Meghan and Prince Harry to Georgia.
“We'd love to have you at our reunion,” one relative said, extending an invitation to the royal couple along with Harry and the Queen.
However, not all members of Meghan Markle's family anticipate a warm reunion with the Duchess.
Speaking anonymously in a new interview, one family member claimed that Markle believes she is now above her estranged family after becoming a royal in 2018.
“We're clearly in different social classes, and we won't ever speak again,” the anonymous relative told Fox News.
They expressed that Markle's choice to distance herself from the family means they have no intention of pursuing a relationship with someone who doesn't want to communicate.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently welcomed their second child, daughter Lilibet Lily Diana.
The couple now resides in a luxurious $14 million estate in Montecito, California, with their three-year-old son Archie.
The strained relationship between Meghan Markle and her family has been well-documented over the years.
Prior to her wedding, her father Thomas Markle famously skipped the ceremony following a staged photo scandal.
He also revealed the contents of a letter Meghan had sent him after the royal nuptials.
Additionally, her half-sister Samantha Markle has repeatedly criticized her estranged sibling.
In other news, Meghan Markle's Spotify podcast, Archewell Audio, recently concluded its 12-week run.
However, a royal expert has suggested that the series' lackluster performance on the streaming platform may be causing concern among Spotify executives.
Writing for News Australia, expert Daniela Elsa criticized the podcast, stating that its underwhelming performance is likely making Spotify executives nervous.
Elsa pointed out that another podcast, “If books could kill” by Michael Hobbs and Peter Shamshiri, has surpassed Meghan the Duchess of Sussex's Archewell Audio on the Spotify charts, despite only releasing three episodes so far.
Despite its initial hype, including Times Square billboards and a brief stint as the number one podcast, Archewell Audio's popularity has dwindled.
It currently sits at the 31st most popular slot on the streaming platform, with none of its episodes ranking in the top 100 episode chart.
As Meghan Markle's Archewell Audio podcast series came to an end with an episode titled “Manifesting, a Cultural Shift,” featuring guests Andy Cohen, Trevor Noah, and Judd Apatow, critics have raised questions about its overall success and impact.
While Meghan Markle continues to make headlines, both for her familial relationships and her ventures in the podcasting world, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Duchess and her ongoing endeavors.
