Meghan Markle’s Co-Stars Patrick J Adams and Gabriel Macht to Present at Golden Globe Awards
Meghan Markle's former co-stars, Patrick J Adams and Gabriel Macht, are teaming up to present at the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards this Sunday.
Known for their roles as Michael Ross and Harvey Spector in the hit show “Suits,” the duo's on-screen chemistry and the show's availability on Netflix have garnered them a new wave of popularity.
“Suits,” produced by UCP, captivated audiences for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019.
Alongside Adams and Macht, the series also starred Rick Hoffman, Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, and Meghan Markle herself.
While other cast members have been invited to present at the prestigious awards ceremony, Meghan Markle, now known as the Duchess of Sussex, was not included.
In October, it was confirmed by Deadline that a spin-off series of “Suits” was in the works.
Following the footsteps of the successful CSI franchise, the spin-off will introduce new characters and potentially be set in Los Angeles.
Beatrice Springbourne, President of Universal International Studios and UCP, expressed that the spin-off would maintain the same time frame and energy as the original, with an equally attractive cast.
Despite her absence from the Golden Globe invitations, some of Meghan Markle's devoted fans have claimed that she declined the offer to avoid stealing the spotlight from other A-list celebrities.
These claims mirror previous instances where she allegedly declined invitations, such as the Nobel Prize ceremony, citing a desire to let the winners shine and her responsibility to cook breakfast for her children.
However, the truth seems to be that Meghan Markle was not invited at all.
Speculation suggests that she is still attempting to secure an invitation and possibly even a chance to speak at the event, should her agency, WME, manage to secure a ticket for her.
During Variety's Power of Women event, Meghan Markle spoke about the renewed success of “Suits” after learning that the show had accumulated over 45 billion minutes of streaming on Netflix and Peacock combined.
She expressed her excitement, stating, “Isn't that wild?
It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew, we had a really fun time.”
Reflecting on her seven-season run as paralegal Rachel Zane, she acknowledged the challenge of finding binge-worthy shows these days but emphasized that good shows have a lasting impact.
Recently, Meghan Markle hinted at upcoming projects during a red carpet appearance, teasing fans with the promise of exciting ventures.
However, she kept the details under wraps, leaving fans curious and eagerly awaiting official announcements.
Speaking about the projects, she shared, “We have so many exciting things on the slate.
I can't wait until we can announce them, but I'm just really proud of what we're creating.
My husband is loving it too, it's really fun.”
When asked about the inspiration behind her new endeavors, Meghan Markle appeared thoughtful, stating that she aims to create things that make people feel something and foster a sense of community.
Her words suggest that her upcoming projects will be centered around evoking emotional connections and shared experiences.
While “Suits” enjoyed success during its initial run and even spawned a spin-off called “Pearson,” the show experienced a resurgence in popularity this year when the first eight seasons became available for streaming on Netflix.
