Meghan Markle’s Archwell Fails to Secure $25,000 Ticket for LA Event
Meghan Markle's company, Archwell, has faced disappointment as it failed to secure a $25,000 ticket for a photo line at an event in Los Angeles.
The event, which is President Biden's first re-election fundraising event, will be attended by Hollywood stars such as Steven Spielberg, Shonda Rhimes, Peter Chernin, Jim Guinepoulos, and Rob Reiner.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is also expected to be present.
President Biden has a series of meetings and fundraisers lined up during his visit to Southern California.
One of the events will take place at the home of Jeffrey Katzenberg, a co-chair of his campaign and a key Hollywood surrogate.
This visit marks the President's first fundraising swing in Los Angeles since announcing his re-election bid in April.
Previously, he had chosen to skip Los Angeles during the WGA and SAG strikes due to concerns over raising money amidst the work stoppage.
According to Deadline, Michael Smith and former U.S.
Ambassador to Spain James Costas will host the event, along with several other co-hosts.
The event will feature a performance by Lenny Kravitz.
Tickets to the event range from $1,000 to $3,300, with some going as high as $500,000.
Those who have donated $25,000 or more will have access to a Photo Line.
It has been revealed that Meghan Markle's company, Archwell, attempted to purchase a $25,000 VIP ticket for a photo opportunity at the event.
However, they refused to make any additional donations.
The intention behind this move was to create the impression that Meghan and Harry were among the major donors to the event.
Following the event, they planned to announce on their Archwell website that the foundation is honored to join President Joe Biden and that they have made a donation to the charity.
It is important to note that no actual money would be raised through this statement, as the funds spent were solely for purchasing the photography slot.
Unfortunately, the tickets were sold out, and Meghan Markle was unable to acquire any, according to an insider.
This recent disappointment comes after the White House snubbed Harry and Meghan from an event for U.S. veterans attending the 2023 Invictus Games.
In the past, the couple had requested to fly to the U.S. on Air Force One with President Biden after the Queen's funeral, but their request was denied.
Additionally, Jewel, the singer, did not attend the Invictus Games to avoid upsetting the Royals.
These instances highlight the challenges faced by the Sussexes in their attempts to establish themselves as political players in America.
Sources have revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's request to accompany the President back to the U.S. in September 2022 was swiftly rejected, with little discussion about the matter.
The potential commotion it would have caused and the strain it would have put on relations with the palace and the new king were cited as reasons for the denial.
It is disheartening to see individuals using the death of a loved one as an opportunity to further their political careers.
Perhaps Meghan's tearful expression upon hearing the news of the Biden's rejection stemmed from this realization.
Their actions can only be described as shameless freeloaders.
