Meghan Markle Signs with WME for Archwell, but Controversy Follows

, the Duchess of Sussex, has recently made headlines with her signing for representation with WME.

The prominent talent agency will now assume representation of Archwell, the content creation label founded by Meghan and .

While the focus will be on film and television production brand partnerships and overall business building, acting will not be a priority.

However, the news of Meghan's signing did not sit well with some employees at WME.

The Duchess's previous reputation for diva behavior in the workplace was already widely known, and this caused discontent among the staff.

Nevertheless, the decision ultimately lies with the boss, and Meghan's signing proceeded as planned.

According to a recent report, the first meeting at the super agency unfolded just as expected.

The staff were instructed to address Meghan by her title, either the Duchess of Sussex or her Royal Highness, and using her first name was strictly prohibited.

This insistence on titles created an uncomfortable situation, as Americans generally do not use such formalities.

The employees found this to be a complete embarrassment, but they had no choice but to comply.

Despite their reservations, they would take her money and refer to her as the Duchess to her face, while using less flattering nicknames behind her back.

The WME office would likely be filled with snarky comments, though efforts would also be made to improve her public image and capitalize on her fame, which is a common practice in the industry.

In a separate development, Jamie Lee Curtis, renowned actress and recipient of the 2023 Oscars award, also criticized Meghan for leveraging her royal title for personal gain without fulfilling the associated responsibilities.

Jamie Lee Curtis, known for her roles in films like “Freaky Friday” (2003), “Scream Queens” (2015), and “Knives Out” (2019), is married to Christopher Guest, the fifth Baron Hayden Guest.

Despite her titled status, Jamie Curtis chooses not to use her title or style when in the United States.

Meanwhile, and , despite stepping away from their roles in the royal family, have retained their royal titles while simultaneously criticizing the system as toxic.

This has led many to question Meghan's credibility, as she continues to profit from her own image and demonstrates a lack of social skills that may have contributed to her struggles as a royal.

Royal commentator Daniela Elsa highlighted a clear pattern emerging this year, with Harry and Meghan openly criticizing the royal institution.

This has left the world somewhat shocked, with royal reporters expressing their disbelief and palace critics citing the couple's criticisms as evidence of a broken system.

Yet, the Sussexes continue to announce lucrative business deals and utilize their Duke and Duchess titles, raising the question of whether they would still secure such profitable contracts if they were simply known as Mr. and Mrs. Mountbatten-Windsor.

The disconnect between the Sussexes' ongoing criticism of the palace and their willingness to capitalize on their titles for financial gain or public appearances is becoming increasingly apparent.
