Meghan Markle Set to Attend King Charles III’s Coronation in May, Aiming for Tiara Moment
Speculation has been rife about whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, also known as the Sussexes, will accept an invitation to attend King Charles III's coronation in May.
However, according to Royal News and Showbiz reporter Kinsey Schofield, the couple is eager to make an appearance on this momentous occasion.
Schofield believes that Meghan Markle is particularly keen on attending as she wants her “tiara moment” to further establish her individual brand.
Schofield stated during an interview with GB News, “I think that they are both going to come because Meghan wants that tiara moment.
It's been a long time since she got to wear something sparkly, and they need to remind the world that they are associated with the royal family.
Because as you know, that is their business.
And he has become their sole brand.”
While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not yet confirmed their attendance or plans to visit Westminster Abbey for the event, doubts have arisen due to the couple's strained relationship with the royal family after stepping back from their royal duties.
Prince Harry made several shocking allegations against his family in his memoir, “Spare,” which followed the couple's Netflix docuseries, “Harry and Meghan.”
The royal family is reportedly displeased with the couple profiting from media deals related to their royal status.
Despite this, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did receive an invitation to the coronation earlier this year.
However, their spokesperson released a statement indicating that a decision regarding their attendance would not be disclosed at this time.
Multiple reports have suggested that the couple will indeed be present at the ceremony, despite it coinciding with their son Prince Archie's fourth birthday.
Last June, the couple traveled to the UK with their two children for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee but did not appear on the balcony during the event.
Some sources claim that there may not be a place for Harry and Meghan in the procession, potentially relegating them to watch from the sidelines rather than participating formally.
Meanwhile, royal experts anticipate that Prince William and Princess Kate, also known as the Prince and Princess of Wales, will play significant roles in the ceremony.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams stated to OK magazine that the couple will undoubtedly have pivotal parts to play.
King Charles is expected to be crowned alongside his wife, Camilla, the Queen Consort, on May 6th.
The ceremony, which will host around 2,000 guests, aims to reflect the monarch's present role while honoring longstanding traditions and pageantry.
Buckingham Palace released a statement in October, affirming that the coronation will be a solemn religious service, combining celebration and pageantry.
The ceremony has maintained a similar structure for over 1,000 years, and this year's event is expected to uphold these core elements while acknowledging the spirit of the times.
Since 1066, the coronation has taken place at Westminster Abbey in London, with the Archbishop of Canterbury typically leading the service.
