Meghan Markle Reunites with Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Germany
Meghan Markle arrived in Germany with a radiant smile on her face, eager to be reunited with her husband, Prince Harry, at the Invictus Games.
The Duchess of Sussex, who flew in from Los Angeles, was spotted wearing oversized dark sunglasses and a stylish patterned scarf as she sat in the back of a luxurious Range Rover.
Her journey began with an overnight flight to Heathrow, followed by a connecting British Airways plane to Dusseldorf.
However, there are speculations that her presence might overshadow the Duke and steal the spotlight from his event.
This marked Meghan's first transatlantic trip since attending the Queen's funeral in London last September.
It is also significant as she will be by Harry's side to celebrate his 39th birthday.
Upon her arrival in Germany, the 42-year-old Duchess was swiftly whisked away from the IP Terminal to the 5 Star Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Throughout the journey, her bodyguard remained vigilant, seated in front of her in the vehicle.
The couple's burly bodyguard, former Secret Service agent Chris Sanchez, accompanied them into an underground car park at the hotel.
Following a 20-minute drive from the airport in a Volkswagen SUV, the couple's bodyguard led them into the car park.
They were then escorted to a private reception for friends and families of competitors from the 21 participating countries.
Although no details of the event have been disclosed, it is expected to be a relaxed affair, with children also in attendance.
The invitees are all part of the UK Invicta family and will be flying out together on a RAF flight from Birmingham.
Meghan will be heading straight to the private event from the Hyatt Hotel, where she and Harry have booked the Presidential Suite.
Meanwhile, organizers have issued a severe weather warning for Düsseldorf, with heavy rain and thunderstorms expected from 6 PM to midnight.
They have advised everyone to avoid the outside areas in the Invictus Games Park.
Prince Harry has been a staunch supporter of the UK team and has been seen taking selfies with competitors, their relatives, and even young children.
The reception has also extended invitations to friends and family from other nations.
According to a source, the event will be very informal and not a formal sit-down meal.
The venue is being kept a closely guarded secret, with loved ones of competitors being transported in on a fleet of coaches.
During the games, Harry watched a wheelchair basketball match between the UK and Ukrainian teams alongside his friend JJ Chalmers.
He engaged in an animated conversation with Chalmers, a former Marine who competed in the first Invictus Games in London.
Chalmers suffered severe injuries in a bomb blast in 2011 while serving in the Royal Marines.
Harry was also seen speaking with Beth Hurley, his former program coordinator, who now works as an event manager with the Royal Foundation.
After attending the indoor rowing event, Harry is expected to return to his hotel to welcome Meghan.
The Duke seemed cheerful and energetic as he surprised everyone by making an appearance at a marquee where competitors could mingle.
