Meghan Markle Faces Accusations of Copying Jennifer Lawrence Following Vogue Interview
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, finds herself embroiled in controversy after being accused of imitating actress Jennifer Lawrence just two days after her recent interview with Vogue.
It appears that Meghan is eager to make her mark in American Vogue, but it seems that Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief, is not willing to extend an invitation.
Interestingly, Anna Wintour had previously referred to Meghan as her dream guest for the Met Gala in 2019.
However, it appears that Meghan's aspirations have hit a roadblock, as she struggled to even receive a call back from Vogue.
Rumors began swirling that Meghan would not be gracing the cover of Vogue or receiving an invitation to the prestigious Met Gala.
An anonymous source, claiming to have insider knowledge, revealed, “My neighbor's sister-in-law works at Vogue.
They were all hysterically laughing at the text they received regarding Meghan's name change from Markle to Sussex.
She is seen as a wannabe.”
Allegedly, there was a debate about whether to keep her original name, but Anna Wintour ultimately agreed to the change.
However, it is believed that she made a derogatory remark, suggesting that Meghan would never grace the cover of Vogue or attend the Met Ball.
The unspoken sentiment seemed to be that Meghan was considered “white trash.”
Adding more fuel to the fire, it was recently reported that Anna Wintour's boyfriend is Bill Nighy, a distinguished English actor.
One can only speculate on what he may know about the situation.
This controversy comes on the heels of Vogue facing significant backlash over an article featuring Gloria Steinem and Meghan Markle.
Notably, Joan Collins, famous for her role in “Dynasty,” expressed her disdain for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.
When asked about their recent stay in the UK, Collins questioned, “Do we need to give any of them any more attention?”
Collins also took a jab at Meghan when asked about other duchesses making headlines, sarcastically responding, “Who could that be?
I have no idea.”
Later, during the same program, she commented on Meghan's reaction to being called a diva by Mariah Carey, stating, “I think it's rather nice to be called a diva now and again.
It's supposed to be a compliment, actually.”
Meghan Markle rose to fame for her role as Rachel Zane in the TV series “Suits” and her appearance as a suitcase girl on a game show.
However, after meeting Prince Harry and becoming engaged, she announced her retirement from acting in 2017.
The couple later decided to step back from their royal duties, relocated to California, and signed lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield shared her perspective on Meghan's future in acting, suggesting that if Meghan truly wanted to return to the profession, she would have done so already.
Schofield pointed out that Meghan has a substantial contract with Netflix, giving her the freedom to pursue any project she desires.
However, it appears that Meghan has not utilized this opportunity, as her cartoon life story was canceled after two years of inactivity.
Kinsey expressed her confusion, stating, “So why isn't she producing?
Why isn't she starring in some passion project with Netflix?
She's had two years to do that.
So, I'm not convinced that Meghan wants to go back into acting.”
Kinsey further emphasized that Meghan has had ample time to explore her options and create compelling content.
However, Kinsey does believe that Meghan could leverage her love for literature or even revive her defunct lifestyle website, The Tig, in some form on screen.
