Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Hollywood Dreams Shattered as Support Plummets
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's attempts to conquer Hollywood have hit a roadblock, despite their efforts to distance themselves from the royal family.
The couple's popularity has taken a significant hit following the release of the Netflix documentary and Harry's memoir.
Even after abandoning their royal titles in 2020, their hopes of becoming Hollywood royalty seem to be fading.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield expressed her thoughts on the matter, stating, “I think Harry and Meghan had an amazing opportunity to elevate themselves and actually be Hollywood royalty.
But their behavior is causing people to have second thoughts about associating with them.”
According to insiders, the Sussexes are concerned about being ridiculed by comedians at the upcoming 96th Academy Awards.
By making themselves easy targets, Harry and Meghan have potentially set themselves up to become the b*tt of many jokes.
While it remains uncertain how many comedians will be presenting at the event, Jimmy Kimmel, the host of the late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” has already been announced as the host of the Oscars ceremony in 2024.
This will be Kimmel's fourth time hosting the prestigious awards ceremony, having previously hosted in 2017, 2018, and 2023.
Entertainment Tonight reported that Kimmel expressed his excitement about the news, stating, “It was always my dream to host the Oscars exactly four times.”
The 96th Academy Awards is scheduled to air on March 10th, 2024, on ABC.
It is worth noting that Kimmel has a history of mocking Prince Harry.
Earlier this year, he mercilessly ridiculed Harry's revelation from his memoir, where he claimed to have used his mother's Elizabeth Arden lip cream on his genitals to cure frostbite.
In a scathing parody, Kimmel produced a book titled “The Prince and the p-nis,” featuring cartoon drawings of Harry and his frostbitten genitals, with Princess Diana providing the lip cream.
The talk show host's rendition drew eruptions of laughter from the audience.
Despite their efforts to establish themselves in Hollywood, Meghan and Harry have never received an invitation to the Oscars.
Even poet Elton John, a close friend of Princess Diana, has not invited them to his annual AIDS Foundation Oscars after-party.
Tom Bauer, a source close to Sir Elton, believes this is due to the couple's absence from any prestigious Academy Awards events in 2023.
Bauer questioned the couple's influence in Hollywood, stating, “Sir Elton has long been associated with Harry, who is the youngest son of his close friend, Princess Diana.
Their relationship was so close that Sir Elton even performed at a funeral with a reworked version of his iconic track, ‘Candle in the Wind,' raising money and honoring her memory.”
However, even Elton John has joined the growing list of celebrities who have chosen to snub Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The couple, who now reside in California after stepping down as working royals, seem to be losing their appeal in the entertainment industry.
