Just two years after their 2018 marriage, the Duchess of Sussex and announced their decision in 2020 to step back from their roles as senior members of the British royal family.

This announcement garnered significant media attention and sparked numerous headlines, with royal observers speculating about the reasons behind their departure.

The couple expressed their desire to lead a new life, achieve financial independence, and split their time between the UK and North America.

The Queen and other royal members agreed to relieve them of their official royal duties.

Speculations arose regarding the state of their relationship with the rest of the royal family.

Following their departure from royal duties, Meghan and Harry engaged in various endeavors, including charitable works, advocacy for mental health and social justice, business ventures, and a strong interest in the silver screen.

Their recent Netflix documentary, “Harry and Meghan,” and the memoir, “Spare,” have generated considerable buzz around the couple.

Their efforts seem to be paying off, as they have been included in invitation lists for notable receptions and events that typically feature only the most famous faces from the celebrity world.

In fact, they have invested in a $14 million home in the exclusive Montecito neighborhood of Los Angeles, where A-listers like Ellen DeGeneres and reside.

During a conversation on the “Royally U.S.” podcast between hosts Christine Ross and Christina Garibaldi, speculation arose about Meghan and Harry's future presence at elite events such as the Met Gala, as part of their Hollywood ambitions.

This speculation gained further weight when the couple attended Ellen DeGeneres' and Portia Durosti's surprise vow renewal at Portia's 50th birthday party in Montecito, California.

The event boasted an exclusive guest list, leading Garibaldi to comment, “It was definitely an A-list Hollywood guest list.

I think that's where Harry and Meghan want to find themselves, on that A-list Hollywood circuit.”

She added, “I think this is the first of many times we're gonna see Harry and Meghan in these A-list circuits.

I would keep an eye out on things like the Met Gala, the big red carpets this year to see where they're gonna find their place in the celebrity minefield.”

While Meghan and Harry have maintained a low public profile, apart from appearances catering to the Hollywood circuit, speculations have emerged regarding their attendance at III's coronation on May 6th, just five days after the Met Gala.

While the couple has yet to confirm their presence at either event, the guest list for the Met Gala is famously kept secret until the day before the event.

It is evident that Meghan and Harry would eagerly desire an invitation to the prestigious event.

However, rumors suggest that Anna Wintour, the chair of the Met Gala, who plays a significant role in determining the theme and guest list, not only lacks enthusiasm for inviting the couple but has also allegedly blacklisted them from attending any future Met Galas.

It is worth noting that Anna Wintour, also the editor-in-chief of Vogue, is known to be an admirer of the Queen.

In fact, she and II were spotted sitting next to each other at the Richard Quinn's show during London Fashion Week in 2018.

Only time will tell if Meghan and Harry manage to secure a spot on the Met Gala guest list, or if the rumors of their blacklisting hold true.

If they are indeed excluded from the event, one cannot help but wonder if the Queen had any influence in this decision.
