Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Consider Selling Montecito Home

Rumors have been circulating about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's potential decision to sell their Montecito home.

The Sussexes are reportedly contemplating a move to a luxurious area with an array of multi-million dollar mansions, complete with miles of horse trails and a private beach.

This news comes as property crime in Montecito is on the rise, according to Santa Barbara News Press, via the Express.

After a brief stay in Los Angeles, Harry and Meghan initially settled in Montecito.

For Meghan, this move was a long time coming, as she had fallen in love with the stunning surroundings and architecture during her teenage years, as reported by Us Weekly.

While they initially gave Los Angeles a try, Harry found the timing, amidst the coronavirus pandemic, to be less than ideal, and the couple lacked the privacy they desired.

Montecito's proximity to Los Angeles, where much of their work is centered, while still offering respite from the crowds, media, and tourism in Hollywood, has been an added advantage for the couple, according to a source.

Despite the significant increase in the value of Meghan and Harry's property, now estimated at around $30 million, they have remained tight-lipped about their potential move.

Perhaps it is because, as one premium real estate agent noted, property prices in the area have skyrocketed over the past 18 months and show no signs of slowing down.

In other news, King Charles and Camilla paid tribute to the late Queen by attending the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance.

This event, held at the Royal Albert Hall, commemorates Queen Elizabeth II's 70 years of service to the country and also marks the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War.

It is the first annual memorial ceremony held since the passing of the 96-year-old King.

During the festival, King Charles III and the Queen Consort were welcomed by Ian McCullough, President of the Royal Albert Hall, and Lieutenant-General James Bashore, President of the Royal British Legion.

The Princess Royal, Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and the Prince and Princess of Wales were among the other members of the Royal Family in attendance.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak occupied a box on the Royal Family's left, while Sir Keir Starmer, Leader of the Labour Party, sat to their right.

The event commenced with a performance of “I Vow to Thee My Country” by actor Luke Evans, who, although not having served in an active combat role, has always held the military in high regard.

Following the Queen's passing, Charles assumed the throne and was named Head of State.

During the festival, Kate Middleton paid tribute to the late Queen by accessorizing her look with the same diamond necklace and earrings she wore to the Queen's state funeral.

The Prince of Wales donned a navy suit with a red and navy striped tie, proudly displaying his military decorations on the breast of his jacket.

On Sunday, King Charles will lead the nation at the Cenotaph for the first time as monarch, concluding the celebration that also honors those who have served their country or made the ultimate sacrifice.

Charles will place a fresh poppy wreath, adorned with a ribbon representing his racing colors, paying homage to both his late mother and his late grandfather, George VI.
