Meghan Markle Accused of Copying Storyline from Animated Series for YouTube Spa Visit
In a surprising turn of events, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is facing accusations of lifting the storyline of her recent visit to a Korean spa from an animated series called Big Mouth.
The show features an episode where the mother takes her biracial daughter to a Korean spa, and the daughter feels embarrassed about being n^ked in the spa.
This revelation adds to the growing list of alleged lies told by Markle.
During the latest episode of her YouTube series, Meghan Markle had a conversation with stand-up comedian Margaret Cho and journalist Lisa Ling.
Together, they explored the archetypes that often limit and define Asian women.
Markle asked her guests to describe themselves using three words, and while she received responses like “sponge-like” and “curious,” it was Lisa Ling's 9-year-old daughter, Jet Ling Song, who caught her attention with the word “weird.”
Seizing the opportunity, Markle subtly took a swipe at the royal family, encouraging her viewers to embrace their true selves.
She emphasized the importance of being authentic and disregarding societal expectations or stereotypes imposed by a small-minded few.
Markle urged her audience to embrace their uniqueness, whether that meant being silly, fierce, curious, or even self-doubting and unsure some days, but strong and brave on others.
Markle also criticized Hollywood filmmakers for perpetuating what she referred to as the “dragon lady” stereotype.
She specifically mentioned movies like Austin Powers and Kill Bill, which often depict Asian women as over-sexualized or aggressive.
According to Markle, this toxic stereotyping extends beyond the screen and has a lasting impact on women of Asian descent.
However, not everyone agrees with Markle's perspective.
Glasgow comedian Leo Kurs dismissed her critique, labeling her as an “insufferably woke, race-baiting, self-obsessed grifter.”
Kurs argued that films like Kill Bill and Austin Powers are not meant to be taken as realistic portrayals but rather as homages or satires.
He sarcastically questioned what Markle would complain about next, suggesting that she might find fault with movies like Lethal Weapon for inaccurately depicting police paperwork or Paddington Bear for spreading myths about bears' approachability and language skills.
Meanwhile, Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Die For podcast, pointed out that Markle's frequent media appearances may be an attempt to divert attention from allegations of bullying palace staff.
Markle has consistently denied these accusations.
Schofield believes that Markle strategically aligns herself with good causes to shape a positive public image.
As the controversy surrounding Meghan Markle continues, it remains to be seen how these latest allegations will impact her public perception and ongoing media engagements.
