Meghan and Harry’s Demands for Taxpayer Funding Cause Outrage
Canadian officers have come forward, claiming that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry treated them like lackeys, running errands in grocery stores.
This revelation has sparked public outrage as it comes on the heels of the couple's request for British Columbia taxpayers to cover all expenses related to the 2025 Invictus Games.
The two top chiefs of the games resigned due to the excessive demands made by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Initially, Meghan and Harry wanted an escort similar to the one provided during the Invictus Games in Germany in 2023.
However, the cost of such an escort was exorbitant, leading to the resignation of the two chiefs.
This news has particularly angered the volunteers who dedicate their time to make the Invictus Games a success.
Adding fuel to the fire, Meghan and Harry's former security personnel recently exposed the couple's unpleasant behavior.
The Canadian officers, who were previously responsible for their security, claim that they were reduced to being errand-runners, fetching coffee and performing menial tasks.
This misuse of resources has further frustrated the public.
According to The Sun, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's bodyguards may have lost respect for the couple after they relocated to Canada.
Since stepping back as senior members of the royal family, the Duke and Duchess moved to Canada with a team of highly trained close protection officers.
However, Scotland Yard officers assigned to protect the couple have voiced concerns about being treated as menial workers, tasked with errands such as grocery shopping and coffee runs.
A source within the royal security team stated that while the officers are committed to their duties, there is a growing sentiment that they should focus solely on close protection rather than mundane tasks.
The officers feel that their skills and expertise are being underutilized.
It is worth noting that British taxpayers continue to fund Meghan and Harry's security arrangements while they reside in Canada.
Additionally, the couple employed protection officers costing £60,000 per year, who were sent back to the UK every two weeks to be replaced.
However, after their move to the United States, their security funding was discontinued.
Recently, Prince Harry filed a lawsuit against the Home Office for not providing him with security from Scotland Yard officers.
However, the lawsuit was unsuccessful.
It appears that Harry, despite claiming financial independence, still expects taxpayers to fund his security.
His argument that he should be entitled to security privileges due to his position as sixth in line to the throne and his request for permission to marry was deemed irrelevant by the judge.
In a letter to Harry, it was explained that security was provided to him based on his role as a working royal within the British monarchy.
With his departure from this role, the justification for public spending on his protection diminished.
The letter also stated that his security arrangements would be reviewed on an individual basis once his future plans were clarified.
Prince Charles had warned Harry that leaving his royal duties would result in a loss of security.
Charles understood that the British public, who bear the burden of funding the monarchy, would not tolerate paying for the couple's security if they were no longer fulfilling their royal obligations.
Similarly, the Canadian public is unlikely to support such expenses for an extended period.
It is clear that Meghan and Harry's sense of entitlement is causing significant backlash.
