The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have been making headlines ever since their departure from royal duties, attended a service of Thanksgiving for the Jubilee alongside other members of the royal family.

However, their non-working status was reflected in the seating plan, causing quite a stir.

Despite being sixth in line to the throne, he and Meghan were seated in the second row, rather than next to the heirs to the throne.

This unexpected placement drew attention and raised eyebrows, especially considering that the Earl and Countess of Wessex, who have been senior members of the royal family for over two decades, were seated ahead of them.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, who have served the crown since the 1970s, were also given priority seating.

The seating arrangement quickly became a topic of discussion, even after Meghan and Harry returned to their home in Montecito, California.

Local author Robert E. Ringer shared his thoughts on the matter in a comment piece for the Santa Barbara News Press titled “The Duke and Duchess of Woke, or Woe.”

Ringer emphasized the significance of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, highlighting the firm's resilience in moving forward despite the damaging claims made by Meghan and Harry during their interview with in 2021.

He playfully referred to Prince Harry as “Second Row Harry,” reflecting his position in the seating arrangement.

Adding to the controversy, Meghan and Harry arrived at the cathedral in a separate car, while other non-working royals, such as the Tindalls, Lady Sarah Chateau, and Lady Gabriella Windsor, arrived by bus.

As they entered the church, the couple faced a mix of boos and cheers from the public gathered outside.

This divided reaction was noted by commentators on the day.

The Sussexes were once again booed as they left the cathedral, departing in a separate car from their royal relatives.

The Thanksgiving service marked the end of Meghan and Harry's brief visit to the UK.

On the first day of the extended bank holiday weekend, they joined other members of the royal family, including Prince Harry's cousins Eugenie and Beatrice, to watch the Trooping the Colour parade from the Major General's office.

However, they were not invited to the balcony of Buckingham Palace to witness the RAF fly past, as their departure from royal duties means they no longer have an official role within the firm.

The seating arrangement and subsequent reactions have shed light on the ongoing complexities surrounding Meghan and Harry's relationship with the royal family.

Despite their attempts to forge their own path, it seems that their actions continue to be scrutinized and met with mixed responses.

As they settle into their new life in California, it remains to be seen how their relationship with the royal family will evolve and whether they will find acceptance among the public.
