Megan Markle’s Reading Video Mocked by Australian TV Hosts
Megan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, found herself in an awkward situation as she was mocked by hosts of the Sunrise Australia show after they aired a video of her reading her children's book, The Bench.
During the video, which was filmed in the garden of her luxurious $14 million mansion in Montecito, California, Megan attempted to engage young viewers with her storytelling skills.
However, her performance failed to impress Sunrise hosts Karl Stefanovic, Alison Langdon, and Alex Cullen, who burst into laughter while watching the video live on air.
The Sunrise team played the video and couldn't contain their amusement when Megan finished reading.
Apologizing for their laughter, Mr. Stefanovic admitted that it was extremely challenging for him to keep a straight face throughout the video.
Co-host Alison Langdon, perplexed by their reaction, questioned why it was so difficult for them to maintain composure while watching such a lovely story.
In response, Mr. Cullen sarcastically remarked that it was indeed a fascinating and fulfilling tale, adding a touch of irony.
Mr. Stefanovic then jokingly referenced a line from Megan's book, saying, “as we always say, pump pump.”
This prompted the hosts to break into laughter once again, singing lines from the song “Pump Up the Jam” by Technotronic.
In other news, Megan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly sent flowers to Queen Elizabeth II, but they have yet to introduce their newborn daughter, Lilibet, to her great-grandmother.
This decision has led some royal fans to label Prince Harry as selfish, especially after the Queen's recent health scare.
While members of the royal family have been taking turns visiting the Queen at Windsor Castle and offering support through phone calls during her recovery, Harry and Megan have been criticized for not bringing Lilibet to meet her great-grandmother in the UK.
One disappointed fan expressed on Twitter that it was disheartening that Queen Elizabeth has not seen her great-grandson Archie since he was nine months old, and she has never had the chance to meet her youngest great-grandchild, Lilibet.
The tweet further criticized Harry and Megan for their access to nannies and private jets, stating that there is no excuse for their absence and calling their behavior “utterly despicable and selfish.”
Another commenter questioned Harry's claim of being good, suggesting that he doesn't understand the meaning of the word and implying that he must be comparing himself to someone truly monstrous.
A third individual added that Harry's only concern seems to be the money he will inherit from the Queen's will, stating that nobody wants him in the country.
Speculating on the future, the commenter believed that once the Queen passes away, Prince Charles and Prince William will take a firm stance against Harry.
However, some fans have come to Harry's defense, suggesting that his recent absence may be due to panic caused by the Queen's health condition.
They pointed out that other members of the royal family, such as the Cambridges and Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, are also currently away, emphasizing that the issue lies not solely with Harry and Megan.
While Megan Markle's reading video may have elicited laughter from Australian TV hosts, the couple's decision to keep Lilibet away from her great-grandmother has sparked criticism and disappointment among royal fans.
