It was a controversial move that left viewers feeling manipulated and disappointed.

Fast forward to the 21st century, and we're witnessing a real-life Hollywood disaster unfold before our eyes.

And if you're familiar with recent events, you know exactly who I'm talking about – Harry and Megan.

After three years of being hailed as Netflix's golden couple and securing deals worth more than the GDP of a small nation, Megan and Harry have hit a roadblock in their careers, according to a new report.

Despite Megan's confident appearance at Variety's Power of Women event, where she dazzled on the red carpet, the reality is far from glamorous.

The Variety event is a significant occasion, marking the start of awards season.

It attracts big names like Margot Robbie, Emily Blunt, Carey Mulligan, and Billie Eilish.

These women are accomplished in their fields, with Margot Robbie even being honored as a producer of the highly successful movie Barbie, which has grossed over two billion dollars at the box office.

Meanwhile, Eilish boasts over 45 million digital singles sold and seven Grammy Awards to her name.

In the same room were influential figures such as Janet Yang, president of the organization that runs the Oscars, and Perlina Igbokwe, chairperson of Universal Studio Group.

These women know what it takes to achieve success.

But what about Megan?

Well, her biggest moments this year included being involved in a questionable car chase and rumors of a forthcoming wellness brand.

Beyond that, her output has been notably sparse.

As for Harry, his memoir generated buzz but his other project, the Heart of Invictus documentary, failed to make an impact.

It seems that the content they've created either revolves around trashing the royal family or falls flat, failing to captivate audiences.

According to the Daily Mail, Megan's appearance at the Variety event was a strategic move to establish herself as a power player in the industry and dispel rumors that Netflix may not renew their $100 million deal when it expires in 2025.

If their contract with Netflix falls through, it could spell disaster for their Hollywood ambitions.

Furthermore, Megan and Harry seem to have faced unfortunate timing.

The entertainment industry has been severely impacted by strikes and other disruptions, making it even more challenging for them to achieve their TV goals.

They now find themselves judged based on their output rather than their royal titles.

Their successful projects, such as the docuseries Spare and the Harry and Megan documentary, rely heavily on their connection to the royal family.

The question remains: can they replicate this success without the “royal” factor?

It's clear that Megan and Harry are struggling to maintain the interest they once commanded.

They left the royal family in pursuit of an independent lifestyle, but it seems they expected the royal family to fund their extravagant lifestyle even after they moved away from the UK.

The reality is that Megan and Harry wanted to live off the royal family's support while enjoying the perks of luxury.

Their continuous attacks on the royal family and anyone associated with it have made them pariahs.

The lies they've told and the abuse they've inflicted have tarnished their reputation.

It's become increasingly difficult to distinguish between truth and falsehoods in their narrative.

At this point, it seems unlikely that Megan and Harry could sell anything successfully, let alone candy to children.

So, will Megan be the first member of the royal family to grace the Oscars stage next year?

It's doubtful.

The odds are stacked against them, and their Hollywood dreams appear to be fading.
