Lady Louise Windsor Shines at Royal Windsor Horse Show 2023

Lady Louise Windsor, the daughter of and Sophie Wessex, has once again made her parents proud with her latest appearance at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

The 19-year-old participated in the circuit training marathon and showcased her equestrian skills at the British Driving Association's Paul Roger meet.

Currently studying at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, Lady Louise looked elegant in a navy Stella McCartney coat and matching fedora on the second day of the show.

and Sophie watched from the stands, their joy evident as their daughter's achievements were displayed above the tannery.

Lady Louise follows in the footsteps of her late grandmother, II, and her late grandfather, , in her passion for equestrian sports.

She was introduced to riding at a young age and has now taken up carriage driving, just like her grandfather did.

, who played polo until 1971 when he discovered carriage driving, is credited with bringing the sport to the United Kingdom.

He represented Britain in numerous European Championships and World Championships.

Reflecting on her experience, Lady Louise expressed how involved Prince Philip was in her driving journey.

She found it both fantastic and slightly intimidating to learn from someone who essentially invented the sport.

Prince Philip's enthusiasm would light up his eyes whenever he asked about her competitions, and his support brought them closer together.

In 2019, Prince Philip proudly watched his granddaughter compete in a private one-handed carriage during the Royal Windsor Horse Show, where she finished third.

Lady Louise fondly remembers their carriage rides, where her grandfather would take her on different routes every day and share captivating stories.

She considers him one of the most interesting people she has ever met.

Following Prince Philip's passing in April 2021, Lady Louise inherited his ponies and carriage.

Last year, she drove one of his carriages in front of the Queen at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, a poignant tribute to her late grandfather.

In addition to her equestrian pursuits, Lady Louise recently attended the coronation of and Queen at Westminster Abbey.

She looked stunning in a floral Prince Susanna London dress for this historic occasion and also joined her parents at a pre-coronation party at Oswald's private members' club in Mayfair.

Lady Louise Windsor continues to impress with her dedication and talent in the equestrian world.

Her parents, Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex, can be rightfully proud of their daughter's accomplishments.

As she balances her studies at the University of St Andrews and her passion for carriage driving, Lady Louise is undoubtedly carving her own path within the royal family.
