King Charles Postpones Invitation for Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Royal Coronation
In a surprising turn of events, King Charles has decided to postpone any plans of inviting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex back into the royal fold, according to a royal reporter.
After enduring a tumultuous period, the King sought support from the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and initiated conversations with his younger son to ease tensions prior to his historic ceremony in May.
Robert Jobson, the royal reporter, dismissed previous reports as inaccurate, emphasizing that the King's focus is on establishing himself as the new sovereign.
Richard Palmer, the Daily Express royal correspondent, expressed his belief that it would be unlikely for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to not receive an invitation.
However, he acknowledged that the final decision rests with the government.
During an interview with Pandora Force on the Daily Express Royal Roundup, Palmer stated, “I'm going to be surprised if they don't get an invitation.
Ultimately, it's down to the government, so Rishi Sunak and his fellow ministers are going to have to explain who has been invited and who hasn't been invited and why.”
Palmer further speculated that invitations would be sent out soon, urging the Prime Minister to make a decision promptly.
These comments from royal experts come after an unintentionally harsh response from King Charles when asked about bringing Harry back to the UK.
While visiting the University of East London's Stratford campus, the King was met with cheers and applause.
However, when a man in the crowd shouted, “Bring back Harry, please.
Can you bring him back, please, sir?”
Charles, unaware of whom the man was referring to, replied, “Who?”
After the man clarified that he meant Harry, the King nervously responded, “It would be nice,” before moving on.
The debate regarding Prince Harry's attendance at the coronation has intensified following his public criticism of the royal family in his recently released memoir.
Invitations for the 90-minute service at Westminster Abbey are expected to be sent out this month.
According to a source cited by The Sun, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are likely to receive an invitation.
The source stated, “They will definitely be invited.
We are working on the assumption that they will come.”
The King's coronation, scheduled to take place over three days starting on May 6th, is anticipated to captivate global attention.
As the royal family closes the door on Harry and Meghan, speculation arises about the impact this decision may have on their hopes of returning to the fold.
