King Charles Honors Prince Edward and Sophie with New Title: Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh

Months after the passing of , has bestowed a new title upon his youngest brother, , and his wife, Sophie.

The royal couple will now be known as the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

The official announcement, published on the royal's official website, states that His Majesty the King has conferred the Dukedom of Edinburgh upon Earl of Wessex and Forfa on the occasion of His Royal Highness's 59th birthday.

This decision aligns with the late Queen's wishes, as she had expressed her desire for Edward and Sophie to assume the titles of Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh following her and 's demise.

While Charles granted his eldest son, , the title of Prince of Wales upon his ascension to the throne, Edward was not initially given the Dukedom of Edinburgh, which sparked curiosity among many.

However, it seems that this title was reserved for a special occasion, such as Edward's birthday.

Edward and Sophie have proven themselves to be dedicated and hardworking members of the royal family, although their endeavors often receive less attention compared to those of Prince William and Princess Catherine.

This new title is a well-deserved recognition of their contributions, and it reflects their commitment to their duties.

Furthermore, this change in title also affects Edward and Sophie's children.

Their son, James, now assumes the position of Earl of Wessex, while their daughter, Lady Louise, will not receive an upgrade in title.

Lady Louise had the opportunity to become Princess Louise when she turned 18, but she declined in order to focus on her studies at St Andrews in Scotland.

It is worth noting that Prince Charles has decided that the Duke of Edinburgh title will not be passed down to James.

Instead, upon Edward's passing, the title will revert back to the Crown.

Now, the question arises: did and know about Prince Edward's impending title change?

Did they schedule 's christening to announce it first and steal the spotlight?

After all, the baby had not been christened for 21 months, and a small ceremony at home could have easily been arranged.

Even if they were not aware of the situation, their close friend Eugenie would surely have been informed.

Edward was promised this title 23 years ago, and the Sussexes announced their children's change in status just two days prior.

It is disappointing to witness such behavior, as it seems they cannot allow anyone else to enjoy a moment of recognition.

Interestingly, while Edward's announcement was made by and Buckingham Palace, the Sussexes took matters into their own hands and made their announcement through People magazine.

Not a single word came from Buckingham Palace, King Charles, or the Royal Family.

This self-centered approach only serves to highlight the insignificance of their titles, not only in America but also within the Royal Family and the rest of the world.

They continue to be a subject of ridicule on a global scale.

Although their children now possess titles, it is important to note that these titles hold little meaning outside of tabloid headlines and announcements.

The Sussexes can no longer complain about their children not having titles.

One wonders what they will whine about next.

What else will they find fault with?

Moreover, it is doubtful that anyone would even want to buy products associated with Princess Lily as a brand.

With Meghan in control, it is likely to be bland, talentless, overpriced, and tasteless, just like her.

Piers Morgan, during a discussion on his talk show, pointed out the hypocrisy of Harry and Meghan criticizing the Royal Institution while simultaneously wanting to give their children titles.

He questioned their stance, stating that they live far away from the Royal Family, do not fulfill any royal duties, and reside in a mansion in California.
