Kate, Princess of Wales, Delights Residents and Staff During Visit to Oxford House Nursing Home

In a heartwarming visit, Kate, Princess of Wales, paid a special visit to the premier slow facility, Oxford House Nursing Home.

The residents and staff were thrilled to have her presence this morning.

One of the highlights of her visit was her meeting with Nora, a remarkable 109-year-old resident.

Seated next to Nora, Kate engaged in a friendly conversation, discovering their shared love for Brussels sprouts and kidneys.

Surprised by the coincidence, Kate noticed that Nora's birthday falls just two days before hers, making them both Capricorns.

During her tour of the family-run nursing facility, Kate had the opportunity to learn about the cutting-edge interactive technology used to enhance the daily lives of the residents.

She even joined Jean, one of the residents, for an interactive game of football, experiencing firsthand how an interactive sensory table can bring joy and stimulation.

This innovative instrument was introduced in 2020 as a response to the challenges posed by the pandemic and the necessary safety measures.

While seated near a screen displaying a picturesque countryside view from a train, Kate also familiarized herself with a new interactive wall designed to assist individuals with dementia.

Her Royal Highness took the time to get to know another resident better, showcasing her genuine interest in the well-being of those she met.

Not one to shy away from getting her hands dirty, Kate happily participated in helping the residents make pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

This delightful activity took place at the nursing home, which has the capacity to care for up to 34 people.

Joined by dedicated staff members and volunteers, Kate immersed herself in the joyful atmosphere.

To conclude her visit, Kate embarked on a final tour of Oxford House Nursing Home's garden, accompanied by staff members and volunteers.

Since its establishment in 1980, the home has remained committed to providing exceptional levels of care while fostering a warm and welcoming environment.

Additionally, Oxford House's Family Care, a domiciliary care business, offers assistance to local residents, enabling them to live independently in their own homes.

Having recently made Adelaide Cottage their primary residence, Kate and her family have embraced Berkshire as their new home.

Eager to explore the region and engage with its activities, the princess is keen on immersing herself in the local community.

For this special occasion, Kate chose a stylish ensemble, donning a navy high-neck jumper, wide-leg pants, and elegant heels.

Her outfit was perfectly complemented by a long camel max and coat coat, along with a navy handbag.

Just two days prior to this solo engagement, Kate joined at the BAFTAs, where she captivated audiences with her presence.

During the event, she wore a striking white Alexander McQueen outfit, accompanied by dramatic full-length black opera gloves.
