Kate Middleton’s Subtle Message to Meghan Markle Revealed Through Jewelry Choice
During the annual Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph, all eyes were on Kate Middleton as she joined the other members of the Royal Family.
One particular detail that caught observers' attention was the pair of pearl and diamond drop earrings adorning the Princess.
It is believed that these earrings were a direct gift from the late Queen Elizabeth II herself.
Royal Commentator Danielle Elser suggests that this choice of jewelry was intended to send a pointed message to Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.
On its own, Kate wearing jewelry valued at more than the GDP of a small country might not be groundbreaking news.
It would be as noteworthy as King Charles launching an initiative to save an endangered breed of badger or Queen Camilla trying to remember where she left her favorite letter, as Elser commented.
However, the situation becomes intriguing when you consider Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
Elser hints at the fact that both Markle and Middleton wore a similar set of earrings during the Queen's funeral, but the size of Middleton's pearls overshadowed Markle's.
“Same, same, but not at all,” Elser added.
A simple comparison of images reveals the significant discrepancy between the two pairs.
While Kate's earrings are large and eye-catching, Meghan's are elegant and modest in comparison.
In this case, size does matter.
The history and significance of these earrings also come into question.
Elser points out that Markle does not possess any significant heirlooms from the Royal Family and mentions the controversy surrounding the tiara she borrowed for her wedding.
Beyond these earrings and some pieces belonging to Princess Diana, it is unclear if Meghan has any precious trinkets on permanent loan from the Royal Family's collection.
“In fact, the only piece of jewelry definitely lent to Meghan by Queen Elizabeth was the Queen Mary Bandeau Tiara for her big day, but that too has been a source of controversy,” Elser stated.
According to Robert Lacey's book, “Battle of Brothers,” which has not been confirmed by the palace but also not denied, Queen Elizabeth had to reject Meghan's first choice of a beautiful emerald headdress.
This decision reportedly angered Prince Harry, with the Queen responding, “Meghan cannot have whatever she wants.
She gets the tiara that she's given by me.”
The choice of earrings worn by Kate Middleton has sparked speculation and debate among royal enthusiasts.
What message was she trying to convey to Meghan Markle?
