Kate Middleton and Prince William Enjoy a Relaxing Getaway in the Lake District
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales and future Queen Consort, may have the luxury of having anything she desires, but that doesn't mean she forgets about the simple joys of life.
Recently, the royal couple took some time off to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, just like any normal person would.
Arriving in a black Range Rover, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made a rest stop at the picturesque inn on the lake in Ullswater.
The inn, owned by Lake District Hotels Limited, has hosted Kate and William three times before.
They were seen being escorted from their budget Flybee plane and quickly got into waiting vehicles.
During their visit, Kate sported loose waves in her brown hair and donned her favorite light khaki jumper from the trendy Swedish outdoor brand, Fjallraven.
She paired it with a loose-colored shirt, blue jeans, a tan-colored military-style bag, and looked effortlessly stylish.
The hotel staff revealed that Prince William was impressed with the fantastic view from their bedroom and expressed his desire to stay longer on their next visit.
Although their break was short, they did manage to have afternoon tea at the inn.
The couple enjoyed a full afternoon tea experience in one of the luxury lake-view bedrooms, overlooking Lake Ullswater.
During their stay at the inn on the lake, the Duke and Duchess had the pleasure of meeting Danny Hope, the hotel's director, and her two children, Harry and Ellie.
Danny expressed her excitement and gratitude for being chosen to cater to the royal visit.
Both the Inn on the Square and Inn on the Lake did an exceptional job, and it was a special moment for Harry and Ellie to meet the future King and Queen.
Kate even took the time to ask Harry about his favorite food, to which he replied, “No, it's chips.”
While taking a nature walk, Kate shared her love for the mountainous area of the Lake District and how she is immersing her three children in its beauty.
Despite the rain and the distance from their home in Norfolk, the Princess expressed their fondness for the area and how lucky they feel to live so close to the mountains.
She mentioned that her children also enjoy coming here and exploring the fells.
For those interested in experiencing the same afternoon tea as the royal couple, it is priced at $22.95 and includes a selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches, savory treats, scones with butter, jam, and clotted cream, homemade pastries, macaroons, and traditional mini trifles.
The tea is complemented by a variety of teas and filter coffees.
In addition to their visit to the inn, the couple spent time at a Cumbrian farm, where Kate enthusiastically helped shear a sheep.
Not one to shy away from a challenge, she giggled as she joined the Brown family in tending to their flock of herdwick and Swaledale sheep at Deepdale Hall Farm in Paterdale.
Prince William also got involved, trying his hand at shearing and assisting his wife in preparing a dry stone wall on the estate.
The couple also took part in a nature walk organized by the Cumbria Wildlife Trust, allowing them to appreciate the stunning countryside views.
This visit marked the end of a busy day filled with engagements, including meeting local residents, sampling local produce, and learning about the challenges faced by farmers in the region.
Kate Middleton and Prince William's getaway to the Lake District showcased their down-to-earth nature and their appreciation for the simpler things in life.
Despite their royal status, they continue to find joy in spending time outdoors and connecting with local communities.
