John Cena Rules Out Potential Movie Collaboration with Meghan Markle
John Cena, the renowned wrestler turned actor, recently appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and discussed his experience working with Dua Lipa.
When asked about the possibility of starring in a movie with Lipa, Cena expressed his enthusiasm for a buddy cop film featuring the two.
Colbert even presented Cena with a mock movie poster titled “Beauty and the Brawn,” humorously suggesting Cena as the beauty and Lipa as the brawn, to which Cena playfully responded, “Well, I'll be back to promote that project, sir.”
During the show, Cena revealed that he and Lipa had previously worked together on projects such as “The Barbie” and the thriller “Argyle.”
He praised Lipa for her honesty and recalled her openness about experiencing performance jitters.
Cena also shared his nervousness about acting alongside Henry Cavill and Lipa, acknowledging their undeniable attractiveness on set.
When asked by Colbert if he would consider starring with Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, in a future project, Cena chuckled and dismissed the idea, citing his lack of interest in working with her.
He jokingly remarked, “Well, I heard she's a diva,” implying that he preferred collaborating with emerging talents rather than established figures like Markle.
Meanwhile, reports have surfaced about a new spin-off of the popular series “Suits,” titled “Suits LA,” directed by Victoria Mahoney and potentially receiving a pilot order from NBC.
Contrary to speculation, the spin-off will not feature any original cast members in prominent roles, opting instead for a fresh ensemble of characters set in a new city within the same universe.
Production for the pilot episode is slated to commence in March in Vancouver, under the guidance of executive producers Aaron Korsch, David Bartis, Doug Lehman, and Gene Klein.
Although fans may be disappointed by the absence of familiar faces in “Suits LA,” there remains a possibility for cameo appearances by the original cast members based on interest.
While rumors circulated about Meghan Markle negotiating with NBCUniversal through her agency, WME, Cena's remarks suggest a different narrative, dismissing such claims as mere publicity stunts.
As the entertainment industry continues to evolve, Cena's candid insights shed light on the dynamics of celebrity collaborations and the ever-changing landscape of television production.
