IRS Investigates Harry and Meghan’s Archwal Over Alleged $30 Million Misuse
The IRS has launched an investigation into Archwal, the charitable organization associated with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, over alleged money laundering activities.
This comes after potential financial irregularities were discovered in the 990 tax form.
The news has reportedly upset Meghan Markle, who is closely linked to Archwal.
The IRS is currently scrutinizing Archwal due to questionable financial dealings and concerns related to grants.
These concerns have come to light through the latest tax documents.
In a tax filing disclosed on December 12th, it was revealed that Archwal Foundation experienced a decline of $1 million in contributions in 2022 compared to its first year in operation in 2021.
While Archwal received $13 million in donations in 2021, it only received a little over $2 million in 2022, with nearly all of it coming from two unnamed donors.
Despite the drop, the organization still holds assets worth over $8.3 million.
In 2020, Archwal reported receiving only $50,000 in donations.
However, their expenditures exceeded this amount, with over $55,000 spent on legal fees.
These legal fees were related to the creation and dissolution of their previous charities, Sussex Royal and MWX Foundation.
Notably, MWX Foundation had to be renamed after the Queen forbade them from using the Royal name.
According to tax documents, Archwal received a total of $13 million in donations in 2020, out of which $10 million was donated anonymously.
The identity of the donor remains unknown, leading to speculation that it could be a wealthy friend or business partner of the couple.
Critics have raised concerns about Harry and Meghan's use of Archwal, suggesting that it may be a front for money laundering and tax evasion.
There are also suspicions that the organization is being used as a platform to promote their political agenda and personal branding.
Moreover, questions have been raised about the decision to incorporate Archwal in Delaware, known for its business-friendly laws and low taxes, which often attract businesses seeking to conceal their financial activities and evade scrutiny from authorities.
In addition to the ongoing investigation, Harry and Meghan released a video showcasing their charitable work.
The video featured interactions with military veterans and Nigerian schoolgirls, as well as speaking engagements at various charitable functions.
However, some have accused the couple of releasing this video as a distraction from the damning Foundation report and an attempt to overshadow their royal rivals, Prince William and Princess Catherine, who had released a feel-good video about their own charitable work just hours earlier.
Royal author Tom Bauer has commented on the situation, stating that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are seeking attention as they live above their means in their Montecito mansion.
He noted how they are ridiculed in Hollywood and ignored in New York, leading them to grovel for attention.
Bauer believes that their financial problems are a result of this need for attention.
His comments come after the couple was mocked by comedian Joe Coy at the Golden Globe Awards on January 7th.
This incident adds to a series of Tinseltown personalities turning against the duo since Spotify canceled their contract last June.
With 2024 starting off no differently than their disastrous 2023, it seems that Harry and Meghan may have more to worry about than just jokes from comedians.
They have set themselves up to live like royals, but their income is limited.
Bauer suggests that they may have to downsize and rethink their situation, as they are facing a financial crisis.
