Harry to be Honored at Aviation Awards; John Travolta to Present Legend of Aviation Award
Prince Harry is set to be honored as a member of the Living Legends of Aviation Hall of Fame, recognizing his service in the British Army.
The prestigious awards ceremony will take place in Beverly Hills, California on January 19th and will be hosted by none other than actor John Travolta.
Interestingly, Travolta famously danced with Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, at the White House, making this event all the more special.
As an aviation ambassador, the star of iconic films like “Grease” and “Saturday Night Fever” will have the honor of presenting the Duke with a Legend of Aviation Award, almost four decades after their memorable dance.
Back in 1985, during a gala dinner, Travolta twirled Princess Diana around President Ronald Reagan's dance floor for a remarkable 15 minutes.
He later described it as one of the highlights of his life, as they danced to the tune of “You're the One That I Want,” a song made famous by Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in the hit movie “Grease.”
According to reports from The Sun, Harry and his wife, Meghan, have developed a friendship with John Travolta, even amidst rumors of a falling out with the Beckhams.
The couple apparently spent time with Travolta at a recent event held at the exclusive polo lounge of the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.
An insider revealed that the trio got along extremely well during the gathering, which was organized for the Archwell Foundation.
However, it seems that John Travolta has been quick to deny any close friendship with the Sussexes.
Page 6 reported that the actor clarified he had only met the couple once at the polo lounge, and their interaction was limited to the release party for Harry's memoir in January.
The insider emphasized that while the encounter was friendly, it did not go beyond that.
In other news, it has been speculated that Meghan Markle, Harry's wife, will attend the Aviation Awards alongside him, dressed in a manner reminiscent of Princess Diana.
Some royal fans are even hoping to witness a dance between Meghan and John Travolta, although it is uncertain if the actor would be willing, given his recent denial of their close friendship.
Nevertheless, this possibility has generated excitement among supporters, who recall Meghan's previous attempts to make a splash at events, such as her unexpected microphone grab at a Kevin Costner event or her trophy presentation at Harry's polo match.
While Meghan's fashion choices have often been a topic of discussion, with some criticizing her for being either overdressed or underdressed, it remains to be seen what outfit she will choose for the Aviation Awards.
However, there are concerns about her penchant for an orange spray tan, which can clash with her makeup and bronzer.
On a different note, royal expert Kinsey Schofield suggests that Harry may have secured this honor through his connection with John Travolta, who is known for his involvement in aviation.
Schofield compares this move to the strategy employed last year to give credibility to Meghan Markle's now-canceled podcast.
She remarks that the couple seems to “schmooze” their way into prestigious events to gain recognition, speculating that Travolta, who is known for his kind-hearted nature, might have played a role in Harry's nomination.
She adds that Travolta likely sees Harry as a lost soul in need of encouragement.
