Harry Stripped of State Role for Losing UK Domicile, Replaced by Eugene

, who recently vacated Frogmore Cottage, his and 's official base in the UK, is set to lose yet another royal role.

A senior member of Parliament has revealed that without a home in the country, Harry cannot serve as a councillor of state if is unable to fulfill his duties as monarch.

As of June 30th, the Sussexes were required to leave their Windsor property, with their belongings being transported to their new home in Montecito, California.

With no residence in the UK, the couple may have to rely on hotels or the hospitality of friends when visiting.

However, the consequences of not having a British abode extend beyond inconvenience, as it means Harry will miss out on a crucial royal responsibility.

Royal experts emphasize the significance of losing a UK residence without a replacement.

For Harry, the most consequential aspect is the loss of his ability to act as a councillor of state.

Despite no longer being a working royal, he previously retained this privilege.

Unfortunately, the absence of a UK domicile has cost him this opportunity.

It appears that has little interest in addressing this issue, especially considering that the potential replacement would be Eugene.

The King has already amended the councillor of state rules, rendering Harry somewhat irrelevant.

This alteration was merely the initial step toward completely removing him from the role.

To qualify as councillors of state, individuals must meet specific criteria.

They must be British subjects of full age, at least 21 years old (or 18 years old if the heir apparent or presumptive), domiciled in the United Kingdom, and not disqualified from ascending to the throne.

Residing abroad necessitates having a UK residence to maintain councillor of state status.

Now that Frogmore Cottage is no longer theirs, Harry is officially a full-time resident of the United States.

The councillors of state currently include Queen , the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Sussex, the Duke of York, and .

Last year, Charles proposed adding his other siblings, and , to this list.

King Charles evicted Meghan and Harry from Frogmore Cottage, which had undergone a £2.4 million renovation but was only occupied by the couple for six months.

This expulsion occurred shortly after Harry criticized his family in his book, “Spare.”

The cottage, owned by the Crown Estate, represented their last remaining connection to the United Kingdom.

The couple now resides in California.

has faced accusations of embellishing his bombshell book by assigning nicknames to certain individuals.

In “Spare,” he specifically referred to Sir Edward Young, Sir Clive Alderton, and Simon Case, albeit not by their actual names.

Harry chose insect-themed monikers for them: Bee, Fly, and Wasp.

Valentin Lowe, a Royal Correspondent for The Times, commented on the unflattering portrayal of these three figures.

In an updated paperback version of his book, titled “Courtiers,” Lowe stated that although Harry did not explicitly identify them, it was not difficult to discern whom he was referring to.

The vivid descriptions of government and media as “offal” and “wormy entrails” seemed more reminiscent of J.R. Moringa, who previously held that position, rather than the Prince himself.
