Harry Neglected by Royal Family as Lady Louise Inherits Mountbatten Tradition
In a surprising turn of events, it has come to light that Prince Harry has been completely neglected by the royal family.
The reason behind this revelation is the inheritance of the prestigious Mountbatten tradition by Lady Louise instead of Harry.
But what makes the Mountbatten tradition so special?
And how did Lady Louise manage to out-inherit Harry?
Lady Louise, the eldest child of Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, holds a special place in the heart of Prince Philip.
She is also the youngest granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth, whom we all hold dear.
Interestingly, Lady Louise is the only grandchild of Prince Philip to bear the surname Mountbatten, which is quite cool, isn't it?
But why is the name Mountbatten significant?
To understand the importance of the Mountbatten name, we need to delve into the history of Prince Philip.
Before his marriage to Queen Elizabeth in 1947, Prince Philip was born with the tongue-twisting name “Shelswig Holstein Sanderburg Luxburg.”
However, he renounced these titles and adopted the surname Mountbatten, becoming Prince Philip in the United Kingdom as a British citizen.
Lady Louise, being the seventh grandchild of Prince Philip, holds a special place in his heart, and her birthday was one of his proudest moments.
The reason behind this pride is that Lady Louise was the first royal to officially carry the surname Mountbatten Windsor, ensuring that Prince Philip's name lives on even 55 years after the birth of his first son.
Interestingly, it was an open secret within the royal family that Prince Philip was bitter about his children not inheriting his surname.
He once described himself as a “bloody amoeba” after Charles took on the surname Windsor.
Following Queen Elizabeth's ascension to the throne, she confirmed that the royal family would remain as Windsor, and all her children adopted this surname.
However, it is worth noting that the royal family's original surname was Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, which was changed to Windsor in 1917 due to anti-German sentiment.
There are several other similarities between Lady Louise and the late Prince Philip.
Just like her grandfather, Lady Louise is an exceptional carriage driver, which might explain why she was his favorite.
After Prince Philip's passing, Lady Louise reportedly inherited his carriage and ponies.
Her skill as a carriage driver was witnessed by hundreds at the Platinum Jubilee Royal Windsor Horse Show in May 2022.
She had previously showcased her talents at the 2018 Windsor Horse Show and continues to participate annually.
At the age of 19, Lady Louise is gradually stepping into the public eye.
It was only during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022 that the world got a glimpse of Lady Louise.
However, she has already served as a bridesmaid at two of her cousins' weddings – Prince William and Princess Catherine's wedding in 2011 and Prince Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding in October 2018.
She has also started appearing in portraits and photographs on the balcony alongside her royal relatives, riding in carriages during Trooping the Colour, and attending the National Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen.
Lady Louise's presence has become more prominent after events such as the late Queen's funeral and King Charles' coronation.
At King Charles' coronation, she caught everyone's eye with her spring blue dress and paid tribute to her late grandfather by driving a carriage at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
It is worth mentioning that the Mountbatten-Windsor surname first appeared in an official document when Princess Anne registered her marriage to Captain Mark Phillips in 1973.
However, there is another bearer of this surname – Archie, the first child of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
In 2019, they named their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
Unfortunately, the news has hit Harry hard, as Lady Louise has now inherited the Prince Philip legacy, leaving Harry with only his first name, Prince.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Harry and whether he will continue to carry the Mountbatten name.
This decision by the royal family has sparked a lot of discussion and debate.
