Harry and Meghan’s Wedding: Friends Banned from Reception Amidst Growing Tensions

There were whispers circulating on social media when Harry and Meghan's relationship first began that Harry's best friend, Tom Inskip, also known as Skippy, had encountered Meghan, who was a yacht girl, before anyone else.

This encounter led to his skepticism regarding the relationship, ultimately resulting in his removal from Harry's inner circle.

Initially, those within Harry's circle believed that the relationship would not progress beyond a mere fling.

Allegedly, of course.

Numerous stories have emerged about events leading up to and 's wedding in 2018.

Whether it's tales of intense family disputes, reports of the late Queen summoning for a reprimand, or Meghan's dissatisfaction with many proposed plans, it was undoubtedly a challenging period for the royal staff behind palace walls.

However, it appears that the struggles were not exclusive to the staff, as it has been claimed that several of Harry's close school friends felt that he had changed significantly since being with Meghan.

Their concerns were met with anger from the Prince, resulting in their ultimate exclusion from the evening wedding reception.

In the book “Finding Freedom” by authors Omid Scobie and Caroline Durand, it is revealed that Prince Harry's friend, Tom Inskip, felt like he had lost a friend following Harry and Meghan's wedding.

The authors state that Tom had expressed worry about the rapid pace at which Harry's new relationship was progressing, suggesting that the couple should live together before tying the knot.

Although Tom's comments were well-intentioned, Prince Harry was reportedly deeply hurt and decided to ban his old school friend from the evening wedding reception.

The authors write, “A notable absence from the reception was Skippy, Harry's old friend, who had questioned the Prince's relationship with Meghan and his wife Lara.

They were invited to the wedding ceremony and lunchtime reception hosted by the Queen but didn't make the cut for the evening bash.”

In their biography, the authors further describe Tom's disappointment, stating that he expressed his concerns during brunch with friends the next day.

Allegedly, Tom said, “Meghan has changed Harry too much,” and concluded with a sense of loss, saying, “We've lost him.”

Another former Eton friend claimed that Prince Harry was mesmerized by the likes of George and Amal Clooney and .

The authors add, “Many of Harry's old friends said that the evening guest list was the Prince and his bride's way of saying these are the people that we want in our lives moving forward.”

Another claim regarding escalating tensions between Prince Harry and his old schoolmates is outlined in Tom Bower's explosive book, “Revenge, Meghan and Harry, and the War Between the Windsors.”

According to Bower, Harry invited 16 of his old friends from Eton to join him at Sandringham for a weekend of activities.

The plan included dinner on Friday, shooting on Saturday, and lunch on Sunday.

However, everyone left feeling exhausted after meeting Meghan for the first time, as she challenged every guest who did not align with her values.

Bower writes, “He hadn't anticipated Meghan's reaction.

Their jokes involving sexism, feminism, and transgender people ricocheted around the living rooms and dining rooms.

Without hesitation, Meghan challenged every guest whose conversation contravened her values.

She lacked any sense of humor.”

As the friends drove home after Sunday lunch, text messages flew between the cars expressing shock and disbelief.
