Harry and Meghan’s Financial Woes Deepen as Spotify Deal Falls Through
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, continue to face a crisis in America as their financial troubles escalate.
The couple's multi-million dollar podcast deal with Spotify recently fell through, leading to concerns about their finances.
Meghan Markle, in particular, has been struggling with anxiety, especially when she feels a lack of control, according to a source.
A podcast executive at Spotify even went so far as to label the couple as “grifters.”
It appears that the mounting pressure to make a name for herself in Hollywood is taking its toll on Meghan.
Trying to establish themselves after stepping away from the royal family in 2020, the couple is facing constant money problems.
With Harry frequently traveling and leaving Meghan alone at home, the stress is piling up.
Friends of the couple have expressed concerns that Meghan may be spiraling under the pressure.
Being millions of dollars in debt is an incredibly stressful situation, and it often keeps Meghan up at night, according to insiders.
Maintaining their lavish lifestyle is not an easy feat.
In fact, Harry previously admitted that they rushed into their reported $20 million Spotify deal because they were desperate to cover their security expenses after being cut off by Prince Charles.
They were also trying to pay off their $9.5 million mortgage on their $14.6 million estate in Montecito.
Meghan later revealed that they hesitated to purchase the home as they did not have jobs at the time.
She explained, “I don't want to go and look at all the things that I can't afford; that doesn't feel good.”
Despite their financial struggles, the couple did everything they could to secure the property.
However, the source explained that they no longer have the ability to take such risks.
According to a TikTok video posted by a user named celebrity blinds, Harry and Meghan are allegedly so broke that they had to sell the rights to a property to a streaming service.
Supposedly, due to their financial situation, they gave up half of their future earnings in exchange for the streamer purchasing the rights.
Meanwhile, Page Six reported that Meghan could potentially earn a significant amount of money by posting on Instagram.
Eric Schiffer, an expert in the field, stated, “I'd expect her to quickly become one of the most followed accounts on Instagram.”
He compared her potential earning power to that of celebrities like the Kardashians, who can command over a million dollars for a single product promotion post.
However, another insider refuted claims of Markle returning to the social media platform, saying she has no plans to create an account.
If Markle does decide to join Instagram in the future, Schiffer advised her to be careful not to appear as though she is constantly endorsing products.
He suggested that she align herself with quality brands and companies that share her political and social beliefs.
Interestingly, the Instagram handle @Meghan, which currently has no posts, has already gained nearly 87,000 followers.
It was reportedly created alongside Markle's now-defunct Spotify podcast.
In recent months, Harry and Meghan's attempts to establish themselves as media figures in America have encountered mixed results.
Meghan's Spotify podcast was canceled after just one season, and there have been rumors of dissatisfaction from Netflix executives regarding the content produced by the Sussexes.
These setbacks have led experts to speculate that the couple may be considering a return to the UK in an effort to mend their relationship with the royal family.
