Contrary to the initial claim of a chase, three senior law enforcement sources revealed that Harry and Meghan were being followed, while two other sources described the incident as chaotic.

According to these sources, the NYPD was providing an escort for the couple, and the pursuit lasted approximately an hour and 15 minutes.

At one point, Harry and Meghan sought refuge in a yellow taxi parked outside a police station.

The taxi driver, who downplayed the intensity of the situation, described it as chaotic but not overly alarming.

Despite conflicting accounts, the incident evoked memories of Princess Diana's tragic death in a Paris tunnel, which had a profound impact on Harry's life.

The prince has long harbored resentment towards the media, drawing parallels between his mother's experience and the treatment Meghan has endured.
