Harry and Meghan Welcome Their Firstborn Prince Archie Harrison

Two days later, the couple made a public appearance at Windsor Castle, introducing the world to their precious bundle of joy, baby Archie.

This momentous occasion marked a stark contrast to what had transpired before.

One royal commentator described it as a game of cat and mouse, highlighting the couple's unusual decision to withhold certain details.

In a recent documentary titled “Harry and Meghan What's Next,” Five News' Royal Correspondent Simon Viger delved into the lives of the Sussexes since their departure from the royal family.

Viger expressed his astonishment at the circumstances surrounding Archie's birth, stating, “What was really strange was that we, the press, the world, were lied to about when their baby was actually born.

We didn't know where it was born.

We were told that Meghan had gone into labor, and then there was a baby.

And to have this game of cat and mouse with the media, and I believe their own officials, about where the baby was being born was rather odd.”

Rumors circulated that the palace initially released a statement indicating that Archie was born via a surrogate.

However, this announcement was swiftly removed.

Lady Colin Campbell claimed that an announcement had been issued in the early hours of the morning, stating that Archie was born via a surrogate.

The announcement supposedly came from Kensington Palace but was later attributed to a typographical error or a hacking incident.

Nevertheless, screenshots of the announcement spread worldwide, leaving a trace of its existence.

The content of the announcement read, “This is a public announcement.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex used the services of a surrogate.

We apologize for any inconvenience.”

Lady C pointed out that the lowercase “we” in the second sentence was the typographical error she referred to.

The apology for the inconvenience stemmed from Harry and Meghan misleading the palace regarding the timing of Meghan's labor.

The confusion arose when it became apparent that they had returned home while Meghan was supposedly still in the process of giving birth.

The first announcement stated that Meghan went into labor in the early hours of the morning.

However, it failed to mention the specific time or whether Meghan was still in labor when the announcement was made.

The second announcement clarified that Meghan had given birth to a son at 5:26 am that morning.

Therefore, the statement confirming Meghan's labor was issued more than eight hours after she had already delivered her baby.

Both announcements contained grammatical errors.

The labor announcement referred to Meghan as “Her Royal Highnesses,” while the birth announcement was awkwardly phrased.

Instead of stating, “The Duchess of Sussex has delivered a son,” the press release sent to Insider read, “The Duchess of Sussex has been delivered of a son.”

Despite the confusion surrounding the timing and details of Archie's birth, Harry and Meghan's joy in welcoming their son remained evident.
