Harry and Meghan Bombarded with Questions about Damaging the Royal Family
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle faced a barrage of inquiries as they arrived at an award ceremony in New York on December 6th.
Just hours before the premiere of their highly-anticipated docuseries, the couple was asked about their thoughts on damaging the royal family.
The moment was captured on camera as they exited their car and entered the event, with a video shared on Twitter by user Atrizgraysuit.
In the brief 37-second clip, Harry can be seen moving to Meghan's side of the car.
The Duke of Sussex, holding an umbrella, entered the venue with his wife.
As Meghan waits for Harry to join her outside the car, an enthusiastic bystander can be heard yelling, “Harry, what do you think about eliminating the royal family?”
The same audience member then shouts, “Meghan, you wrecked the royal family,” in Meghan's direction.
The Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Group honored the couple at the ceremony, along with former NBA legend Bill Russell and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Kerry Kennedy, daughter of the late Bobby Kennedy, presented the award to Harry and Meghan, commending them for their presence.
Harry arrived at the event dressed in a suit and tie, while Meghan opted for a chic off-the-shoulder white dress.
Kerry Kennedy joined them on the red carpet.
This recognition comes almost two years after Meghan spoke out about an alleged conversation regarding the skin tone of their then-unborn son during a shocking interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Harry clarified that neither the late Queen nor Prince Philip were involved, but the couple has never disclosed the identity of the person who made the comments.
In other news, it has been revealed that Meghan Markle declined an invitation from Queen Elizabeth II to assist her in adjusting to royal life.
Reports suggest that the Duchess of Sussex turned down the Queen's offer of mentorship, claiming she wasn't interested.
Despite the Queen's insistence, Meghan reportedly declined the assistance.
Royal author Giles Brandreth shared these revelations on Palace Confidential, stating that the Queen wanted Meghan to succeed in her marriage and new role, and did everything she could to support her.
The late monarch suggested that Sophie, Countess of Wessex, would be an ideal mentor for Meghan.
However, Meghan seemed uninterested, believing she already had Harry and didn't require further guidance.
After just two years of marriage, Meghan and Harry stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California.
The Queen was said to be saddened by their departure, understanding the challenges they faced due to intense scrutiny.
She supported their decision for a more independent life and expressed her pride in how quickly Meghan became a part of the family.
The couple's upcoming Netflix series is expected to shed light on Meghan's brief time in the royal family and the factors that led to their departure.
