Feuding Royals: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Clash Over Christmas Plans
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who were noticeably absent from the King's 75th birthday celebrations in London, are reportedly at odds over their Christmas arrangements.
According to insiders, the Duke wishes to spend the holiday season in the UK, while his wife, Meghan Markle, has no interest in returning due to one condition – her fear of being booed.
With the countdown to Christmas underway, the royal family is eagerly anticipating their annual gathering at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
However, it is not expected that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be joining them.
Although the couple did not receive an invitation to Sandringham this year, a source revealed that Prince Harry desires to reunite with his family while Meghan does not share the same sentiment.
This disagreement has the potential to create a Christmas crisis for the couple.
While they have not visited Sandringham since 2018, they have been extended invitations in previous years, excluding those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The source emphasized that the royal family has always made it clear that the door is open for them to attend significant family occasions, especially for the sake of their children.
However, tensions have escalated recently due to the Netflix film and memoir controversy, resulting in fewer invitations for Meghan and Harry.
According to Prince Harry's representative, he was not invited to the King's recent birthday celebrations in London.
This suggests that he may not reconcile with his family until he resolves the rift with his brother, Prince William, and his father, King Charles.
Nevertheless, Prince Harry remains determined to be in the UK during the festive season, surrounded by his loved ones and close friends.
A source close to the Duke revealed that he has always cherished the large family Christmases and regrets that his children will miss out on such joyous occasions.
He used to say that nobody celebrates Christmas like the Windsors, and he has deeply missed that sense of togetherness since his move to America.
The conflicting Christmas plans have caused strain in the couple's relationship.
Relationship expert Luella Alderson commented on the situation, stating that it is unsurprising that their arrangements have become a source of tension.
Prince Harry feels aggrieved and indignant about the lack of contact with his family since stepping back from royal duties.
Despite extending olive branches to both Prince Charles and Prince William, he has received no response and has been unable to establish direct communication.
He even attempted to reach out to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, but reportedly faced rejection.
While he complains to others about his family ignoring him, many are growing tired of hearing his grievances.
Some question the sincerity of his olive branches, especially when financial demands accompany them.
A royal insider revealed that Major Thompson, the King's equerry, informed Prince Harry that he and Meghan would only be welcome at Sandringham if they brought their children along.
This condition apparently upset Prince Harry, who considered it beneath him to be dictated to in such a manner.
The insider added that if the children were to accompany them, their DNA would be tested, which explains why Meghan is hesitant to comply.
It is understandable that no parent would willingly allow their children to embark on an international modeling trip with strangers.
At most, a singular modeling session may be acceptable with the parent present alongside the photographer or videographer.
Even if they were to hire models to accompany them, with a parent acting as a nanny, the children would still be restricted from freely interacting or referring to their real parents as “mum” or “dad.”
As time passes, it seems as though the children are becoming increasingly invisible.
