Fergie Takes a Swipe at Meghan at King Charles’ Christmas Lunch, Sussexes Absent
Zara Tindall and Princess Eugenie were among the prominent members of the royal family who attended King Charles III's Christmas lunch at Windsor Castle.
The festive gathering, which excluded the Sussexes, also saw Prince Andrew leaving the premises.
As the evening came to an end, various family members, including Peter Phillips (Princess Anne's son), the Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Edoardo Mappoli Mosi, were captured departing from the event.
Additionally, numerous extended relatives joined Charles and Camilla for the traditional meal the previous day.
The annual sit-down meal, held on the Wednesday before Christmas, is a rare occasion when all the monarch's extended family convene.
It provides an opportunity for Charles to celebrate with those who do not receive invitations to spend Christmas in Norfolk with the senior royals.
During the gathering, the family sits at round tables, enjoying a Sandringham bread turkey lunch and participating in the customary cracker-pulling tradition.
Earlier in the day, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, accompanied by Princess Anne, arrived at the venue.
Prince Edward, driving alongside his wife Sophie and their daughter Lady Louise Windsor, followed closely behind.
The Princess Royal, elegantly dressed in an emerald green ensemble, was chauffeured by her husband, Tim Lawrence.
Zara Tindall and her husband Mike were also seen attending the event.
Lord Frederick Windsor, the son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, arrived with his wife Sophie and their children.
Lady Helen Taylor, together with her spouse and kids, made an appearance as well.
Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank were spotted driving away after enjoying the festive lunch.
It was reported that Sarah Ferguson, Eugenie's mother, was also invited to the banquet, being considered a family member despite her divorce from Andrew.
She was among the first to leave the gathering.
Meanwhile, Meghan and Harry were absent from the Christmas celebrations with their families.
Sarah Ferguson's presence at King Charles' intimate party was seen as a snub towards Meghan.
Despite her divorce from Andrew, Fergie is still regarded as a member of the family.
She currently resides rent-free on the Windsor estate, accompanied by the Queen's corgis.
Fergie's reputation has remained relatively untarnished, and her children have retained their titles.
Unlike Meghan, Fergie did not engage in malicious behavior or speak ill of her in-laws.
Although she made regrettable choices, she faced the consequences with good humor.
Prince Philip blacklisted Fergie for accepting bribes, but she never had any intentions of undermining the monarchy, unlike Meghan.
Fergie had Andrew as an ally who fought for her, and with the Queen no longer present, her favorite child, she received indulgence.
However, the only person who might consider accepting Harry and Meghan back into the fold is Charles, the future King, who holds significant authority within the family.
Now that Harry and Meghan have revealed every scandalous story, they have nothing left to protect.
They have played their final card.
It is evident that the family does not desire their return, and the institution does not require them to safeguard sensitive information.
Perhaps Harry and Meghan believed that by disclosing the names of those who discriminated against them, they could put an end to the prolonged guessing game and pave the way for reconciliation.
Unfortunately, it seems their last bargaining chip has been exhausted.
