Ellen DeGeneres Persuaded Megan Markle to Adopt Dog, Contrary to Ellen’s Claim

Megan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently revealed that it was talk show host Ellen DeGeneres who convinced her to adopt her beloved dog, Bogart, from a dog shelter.

In an interview with Best Health in 2016, Megan shared the heartwarming story of how she came to welcome Bogart into her life.

According to Megan, she was at the shelter, contemplating whether to bring Bogart home, when Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, unexpectedly walked in.

Although Megan didn't personally know Ellen, the influential TV personality took notice of her and asked if the dog was hers.

Megan replied that he wasn't, unsure about making the decision.

However, Ellen, known for her persuasive nature, insisted that Megan rescue the dog.

She likened her influence to that of Oprah Winfrey, saying, “It's sort of like if Oprah tells you to do something.”

Megan found herself still holding Bogart as Ellen asked if she had thought of a name for him.

Megan mentioned that she was considering naming him Bogart, to which Ellen responded enthusiastically, “You're taking that dog home!”

As Ellen left the shelter, she surprised Megan by turning back and tapping on the window glass, urging her once again to take the dog.

Megan, touched by Ellen's conviction, decided to bring Bogart home, all because Ellen told her to.

However, in a surprising twist, Ellen DeGeneres later claimed that she didn't recall the encounter at the dog shelter.

But obviously, she does.

And she does whatever I tell her to.”
