Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Third Wedding Anniversary Goes Unacknowledged by Royal Family
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, celebrated their third wedding anniversary on Wednesday.
However, it seems that the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton did not publicly congratulate the couple.
This lack of acknowledgment comes as no surprise, considering the strained relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family.
On their special day, the official Royal Family Twitter account only sent one tweet, extending congratulations to Princess Beatrice and her husband, Mr. Eduardo Mapelli-Mozzi, on their pregnancy.
The tweet stated, “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Eduardo Mapelli-Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year.
The Queen has been informed, and both families are delighted with the news.”
Similarly, Prince Charles and Camilla's Clarence House Twitter account shared multiple tweets and pictures documenting their visit to Northern Ireland.
Some of these posts were retweeted by the Royal Family account.
However, there was no mention of Harry and Meghan's anniversary or any well-wishes from the Prince of Wales and his wife.
Prince William and Kate's official Twitter account also remained silent on the matter, except for one tweet.
The tweet featured a video of Kate visiting the V&A Museum in London as Covid restrictions in England were eased.
The accompanying message read, “Inside an interactive theatrical show.
Exploring 157 years of adaptations, reinventions, and storytelling of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.”
It appears that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose not to publicly acknowledge the Sussexes' anniversary either.
Meanwhile, Prince William shared a personal update earlier in the week.
He posted a picture of himself receiving his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and expressed gratitude towards those involved in the vaccine rollout.
His tweet read, “On Tuesday, I received my first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
To all those working on the vaccine rollout, thank you for everything you've done and continue to do.”
The strained relationship between Harry and Meghan and the royal family has been making headlines for quite some time.
The couple has made controversial claims about the monarchy, leading to a furious rift with several senior members.
In a recent interview with the Armchair Expert podcast, Prince Harry appeared to question his father's parenting.
He expressed his desire to break the cycle of genetic pain and suffering for the sake of his own children, stating, “He has treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?”
Earlier this year, during a highly publicized interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Sussexes made bombshell allegations against the royal family.
They accused an unnamed member of expressing concerns about the potential darkness of their son Archie's skin tone before his birth.
