Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Spotted Holding Hands at Kensington Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and , were seen engaging in a rare public display of affection at their residence, Kensington Palace, before embarking on a day of engagements in Blackpool, England.

A video captured by an onlooker and shared on Instagram showed the couple casually holding hands as they made their way across the lawn towards their helicopter.

Typically, the royal pair refrains from such public displays of affection during official engagements.

However, this particular moment was an exception, possibly due to the fact that they were still on home turf and not yet on official duty.

The Duke and Duchess, who will celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary next month, proceeded to carry out a series of engagements in the seaside resort town of Blackpool.

Despite the rainy weather, the Duchess looked elegant in her choice of attire.

She donned an olive sport max coat, a Michael Kors-patterned peacock dress, and accessorized with a recycled green Manu Atelier bag and black knee-high boots.

Kate wore her hair in a relaxed ponytail and shielded her hands from the cold with a pair of black gloves, which she paired with a woolly scarf.

Her makeup consisted of pale green eye shadow and a touch of blusher.

She completed her look with square-cut diamond and green amethyst earrings by Kiki McDonough.

Undeterred by the rain, and Kate warmly greeted well-wishers and paid a visit to the iconic Blackpool Tower.

Inside the tower, they specifically requested to see the ballroom, which serves as the filming location for the popular show Strictly Come Dancing.

From a balcony, they observed couples dancing a waltz to the tune of “I Shall See You Later,” played on the Wurlitzer by Chris Hopkins.

Following their visit to the tower, the Duke and Duchess participated in a round-table discussion about Blackpool's recent history, the challenges it faces, and the ongoing efforts for investment and regeneration.

They then proceeded to Comedy Carpet on the promenade, where they had the opportunity to interact with numerous well-wishers.

Their itinerary also included a visit to Blackpool's Central Library.

During their time in Blackpool, Prince William and Kate engaged in separate discussions that aligned with their individual interests.

Kate, who focuses on early childhood initiatives, conversed with individuals involved in Blackpool's A Better Start program.

She spoke with health visitors, practitioners from the Family Nurse Partnership, and parents.

Meanwhile, Prince William met with people affected by mental health issues, including homelessness and addiction.

As part of their visit, the royal couple also toured Revo Park, a community garden and park that has recently undergone transformation through the involvement of A Better Start.

Previously known as a location associated with drug use, the park is now open to the community for activities such as gardening.

Prince William and Kate's visit to Blackpool showcased their commitment to engaging with various aspects of the town's community and addressing important issues.

Their affectionate display at Kensington Palace added an intimate touch to their day of engagements, leaving a lasting impression on those who witnessed the royal couple in action.
