Duchess Sophie Enjoys Leisurely Carriage Ride on Saturday Morning

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, was spotted on a delightful Saturday morning indulging in a leisurely carriage drive in the picturesque Windsor Grounds.

Taking a break from her busy schedule of royal duties, the 59-year-old Duchess exuded elegance as she sported a variety of garments to keep warm, topped off with a navy hat from the Prince Windsor Horse Show.

Sophie donned a light-colored zippered jacket with a chic light brown collar paired with a stylish turquoise blue knit top for her charming carriage ride.

Known for her penchant for recycling clothing, the Duchess had previously worn the same jacket during a meeting with soldiers from the Royal Anglian Regiment in May 2021, amidst their rigorous gunman security training.

Throughout her royal engagements, Duchess Sophie has dedicated considerable attention to important causes such as the Preventing s**ual Violence in Conflict Initiative (PSVI) and the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda.

Her commitment to these initiatives showcases her unwavering support for vital humanitarian efforts.

Carriage riding seems to be a cherished pastime within the royal family, with many members partaking in the activity.

Lady Louise Windsor, the daughter of Sophie and Edward, shares her parents' love for carriage riding.

At the Royal Windsor Horse Show held at Windsor Home Park last year, Edward and Sophie beamed proudly as Lady Louise showcased her skills in the carriage.

While the late Duke of Edinburgh began his carriage riding pursuits at the age of 50, Lady Louise made her debut in the sport at the age of 17 in 2021.

Describing it as a pleasant weekend activity akin to golfing, the sport holds a special place within the royal family's recreational interests.

As senior members of the royal family like Duchess Sophie and her husband remain active in attending various events, and Princess Kate have taken a step back to focus on Kate's cancer diagnosis.

In a heartfelt video message in March, Kate revealed her plans for preventative chemotherapy following the diagnosis, prompting to prioritize family time during the children's Easter break.

Demonstrating solidarity, extended members of the royal family came together for the Easter Sunday service at Test George's Chapel on March 31 to show support for and the King.
