Duchess of Cambridge Shines in Queen’s Jewellery at Church Visit

The Duchess of Cambridge once again displayed her impeccable taste in jewellery fit for royalty.

During her family's visit to 's summer retreat in Scotland, Balmoral Castle, the Duchess was spotted heading to church on Sunday.

She rode in the backseat of a car alongside the 92-year-old monarch herself, wearing a pair of earrings straight from her grandmother-in-law's jewellery box – the Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings.

These exquisite earrings, as reported by Her Majesty's Jewel Vault, were crafted from a shell containing seven pearls gifted to by the ruler of Bahrain for her wedding in 1947.

The earrings feature a large round diamond with a smaller circle diamond hanging below it.

Hanging from there are three baguette diamonds, followed by three more small diamonds leading to the dangling pearl.

This is not the first time Kate has chosen to wear these stunning sparklers.

She previously borrowed them for the Remembrance Day service in 2016, following the Queen's decision to wear them the previous year for the same event.

The Queen, known for her generosity, often lends pieces from her jewellery vault to her relatives for special occasions.

Kate has shown her admiration for the Queen on various occasions.

When she introduced her newborn son, , to the world outside St Mary's Hospital, she wore another pair of diamond and pearl drop earrings as a tribute to Her Majesty.

These simpler earrings have become one of Kate's favorites and have been worn on multiple occasions, including during a visit to the Mauritshuis Gallery in Holland in 2016, where she admired the iconic painting “Girl with a Pearl Earring.”

Over the years, Kate has had the privilege of borrowing several remarkable pieces from the Queen, including the Queen's own wedding bracelet, the lotus flower tiara, and the diamond-encrusted maple leaf brooch.

However, the most famous piece she borrowed is the delicate Courtier halo tiara, which she wore on her wedding day in 2011.

But Kate is not the only fortunate one.

Following in her sister-in-law's footsteps, Meghan also wore a tiara from the Queen's jewellery vault on her wedding day.

The Queen married diamond bander, and 's new wife wasted no time in wearing a pair of earrings reminiscent of the Queen's style.

During their first solo outing together, the Queen gifted Meghan an elegant pair of pearl and diamond drop earrings, which appeared to be a smaller version of her own.

In a revealing documentary earlier this year, Queen Elizabeth expressed her rather matter-of-fact attitude towards royal jewels, displaying a sense of detachment.

While she takes the cultural and symbolic role of crown jewels seriously, she does not have a personal interest in jewellery itself, according to expert Alastair Bruce, who spoke with the Queen for the coronation documentary.

He stated, “The Queen is entirely disinterested in jewellery as a person.

There are plenty of people I know who are excited about what they have in a box in their bedroom.

The Queen is the guardian of a considerable quantity of jewellery, setting aside the regalia, but I don't see her as somebody who's particularly interested in diamonds and sitting there, cooing over them, like Elizabeth Taylor.”
