Duchess of Cambridge Prioritizes Queen’s Company This Christmas
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is reportedly putting her personal life on hold this Christmas to support Queen Elizabeth II.
This will be the Queen's first Christmas without her late husband, Prince Philip, and Duchess Catherine, along with her husband Prince William, is expected to spend the festive season at Sandringham with their children.
Prince Philip passed away in April at the age of 99 and was laid to rest at Windsor Castle a week later.
In an effort to ensure that the Queen does not feel lonely during this difficult time, Catherine has chosen to spend Christmas with her.
The Duchess, known for her sense of duty, will be joined by Prince William and their three children at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
Royal Correspondent Kate Nicholl, speaking to OK Magazine, explained how the Duchess consistently prioritizes her responsibilities over personal interests.
In the early years of starting a family, Catherine and William used to alternate Christmases between the Queen and the Middletons.
However, they now put duty first, as evident now more than ever.
Nicholl further shared that Christmas holds great significance for the Middletons, and the Duchess has made a sacrifice by spending it with the Queen.
Nevertheless, Catherine always ensures that she is present at Sandringham on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Interestingly, having two Christmases has become quite enjoyable for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's children.
They get to celebrate with their great-grandmother, the Queen, and then again at their Bucklebury home with the Middletons.
Additionally, Kate mentioned that the Cambridge youngsters are quite tech-savvy, but the couple prefers to give them practical gifts.
While Prince George enjoys his iPad at school, both he and Princess Charlotte are adept with technology.
Like any other children, they might have a wishlist filled with technical gadgets.
However, the Duke and Duchess are cautious about screen time, so they may opt for more practical presents.
From the start, the Duchess has been a hands-on parent, taking inspiration from her own parents, Michael and Carol Middleton.
During the first lockdown, when the Cambridges were confined to their country home at Anmer Hall, Kate ensured that George, Charlotte, and Prince Louis had plenty of outdoor time to explore and breathe in fresh air.
The estate offers climbing frames, swings, and a pond, and each child has their own little patch in the kitchen garden.
It is said that Princess Diana's parenting style has influenced the way Prince William and Catherine raise their children.
The couple aims to provide George, Charlotte, and Louis with a normal childhood, shielded from excessive royal protocols.
