Crisis Meeting in Los Angeles as WME Forces Cancellation of Sussex’s Christmas Card

In a surprising turn of events, a crisis meeting in Los Angeles was disrupted when WME, one of the world's leading talent agencies, compelled the cancellation of and 's Christmas card.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been named as some of the biggest losers in Tinseltown this year by the esteemed Hollywood Reporter.

The renowned industry magazine recently released its 2023 review, highlighting those who achieved success and those who fell short.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex found themselves among the latter group, facing criticism for their Netflix documentary, biography, and even the seemingly innocent title of their podcast.

The Hollywood Reporter did not hold back in their assessment, stating that the couple had abandoned a life of ceremonial public service to capitalize on their celebrity status in the United States, but failed to make a lasting impact.

Adding to their woes, the couple's charitable foundation, Archwell, experienced a significant decline in donations, amounting to a staggering $11 million in the past year.

As a result, the foundation now finds itself in a financial deficit.

Meanwhile, James Holt, the foundation's leader and the couple's right-hand man, received a massive 280% pay raise.

Today, an anonymous source revealed that a crisis meeting involving WME was taking place in Los Angeles.

Speculation arose that , who now handles her own public relations, may have needed to consult with representatives before releasing the Christmas card.

However, the leaders and staff at WME were adamant about canceling the card, although it remains unclear if the meeting was directly related to this issue.

Interestingly, the card was not released by Wednesday morning, leaving many to wonder about its connection to the ongoing crisis meeting.

There are also suggestions that the meeting may address recent problems stemming from the publication of Omid Scobie's book.

It is believed that WME discovered their collaboration with Scobie's book, despite the couple's previous denial.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made no effort to distance themselves from the controversial book, which has been filled with criticism and discontent.

The couple's audacity to release a Christmas card amidst these controversies has drawn further scrutiny.

Hollywood insiders argue that it is in poor taste to include a photoshopped image of the late Queen, especially considering Meghan Markle's recent criticisms of the monarchy in the book.

Unfortunately for Meghan, her actions have made her radioactive in the industry, making it difficult for WME to secure any work for her.

Despite having in-house public relations support, WME will undoubtedly advise Meghan on how her public image is affecting her standing in the industry.

Rumors suggest that she had to pay a retainer fee for representation, as she was not seen as a profitable client initially.

This occurred at a time when the term “Markled” had already been coined, referring to the negative impact Meghan's actions had on her public perception.

The exact details of the contract remain undisclosed, but it is likely that Meghan paid a substantial sum upfront for 12 months of representation, in addition to a percentage of any future work booked through WME.

At some point, WME may reach a breaking point and sever ties with the troubled client.
