Chelsea Handler Roasts Prince Harry at Critics’ Choice Awards, Hollywood Tired of Sussexes’ Deception
U.S. comedian Chelsea Handler didn't hold back as she humiliated Prince Harry during the 28th annual Critics' Choice Awards.
This incident only adds to the growing sentiment in Hollywood that the Sussexes are not well-liked.
People are becoming increasingly fed up with their continuous lies.
The Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles was the venue for this year's awards, which unfortunately suffered from several withdrawals due to the ongoing COVID pandemic.
However, Chelsea Handler managed to set the tone for the evening with her opening remarks.
“Before we begin, I want everyone to know that we're here to have fun and keep the positive energy flowing,” she announced to the audience.
“I understand that I have a reputation, but rest assured, I've spent two years in therapy, so everyone is safe now.”
Referring to the CCA-nominated Netflix show “Dommer,” Handler added, “Dommer has become the third most-watched show on Netflix, with a combined watch time of one billion hours.
Apparently, this is the same amount of time we'll have to endure Prince Harry talking about his frostbitten p-nis.
Enough is enough.”
Chelsea Handler was chosen as the emcee for the Critics' Choice Awards, an event that celebrates the achievements in film and television over the past year.
The announcement of her hosting gig was made in October 2022, and it was met with great excitement.
Critics' Choice Awards CEO Joey Berlin expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We all know and love Chelsea Handler's work as a stand-up comedian, best-selling author, podcast host, and actress.
And now, as the host of the Critics' Choice Awards, I'm certain this will be our best year yet.
I can't wait for everyone to see what we have in store.”
The ceremony honored the outstanding films and television programs of the previous year, as chosen by more than 600 members who make up the Critics' Choice Association (CCA).
Berlin emphasized the significance of this recognition, saying, “We are proud to acknowledge this incredible group of films and the people behind them.
The opinions of our diverse community of over 600 critics and entertainment reporters hold great value and influence.”
As the 28th annual Critics' Choice Awards unfolded on Sunday night, the film “Everything Everywhere All At Once” took home the coveted titles of Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay, with Daniel Kwan and Daniel Shrewett at the helm.
Kee Hoi Kwan was recognized as Best Supporting Actor for his role in the same film.
With 14 nominations, “Everything Everywhere All At Once” was the frontrunner.
On the television front, the comedy series “Abbott Elementary,” nominated in six categories, emerged as the Best Comedy Series.
“Better Call Saul” claimed the title of Best Drama Series, while “The Dropout” was named Best Limited Series.
The event also included special honors.
Jalel Monroy received the See Her Award, presented by Kate Hudson, for her inspiring contributions.
Furthermore, Jeff Bridges was bestowed with the Critics' Choice Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by John Goodman, in recognition of his remarkable career.
The Critics' Choice Awards ceremony, hosted by Chelsea Handler, was broadcasted on The CW network.
It provided an evening filled with laughter, celebration, and well-deserved accolades.
Prince Harry's memoir, titled “Spare,” is not an easy or particularly enjoyable read.
It seems that the Duke of Sussex doesn't aim to convey a thoughtful and nuanced perspective on the monarchy's relevance.
