Bravo, Jimmy Carr Humiliates Harry and Meghan on Big Fat Quiz 2023, Society’s Joke
In an annual tradition that wraps up the year with laughter and introspection, Jimmy Carr once again takes the reins of the highly anticipated Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2023.
This TV extravaganza is a highlight of the holiday viewing schedule, inviting viewers to reminisce on the most unforgettable moments of 2023.
The panel for this year's show boasts a dynamic mix of comedic talent, featuring familiar faces that are sure to entertain.
Mo Gilligan, Rosie Jones, Katherine Ryan, Richard Ayode, Mel Giudaroc, and Kevin Bridges make up the lineup, each bringing their own unique style of comedy to the table.
Together, they will navigate the year's news, pop culture, and quirky events in a battle of wit and knowledge.
As I sit here watching Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2023, I can't help but notice Jimmy Carr's jests about Harry and Meghan during the introduction to the news segment.
What strikes me is that neither the panel nor the audience chose to voice their disapproval of Jimmy's joke.
Additionally, the show features Charles Dance reading an excerpt from Harry's memoir, and the parts where Harry discusses Meghan are fittingly narrated by none other than the legendary Morgan Freeman.
At the 6-minute and 30-second mark, Jimmy Carr quips, “In June, Harry, the red-haired royal formerly known as Prince, became the first British royal to testify in court for 130 days.
It's appalling how the media has attempted to manipulate, gaslight, and control Harry.
Who do they think they are, Meghan?”
This isn't the first time Jimmy Carr has taken jabs at Meghan and Harry.
Last year, he mercilessly mocked Meghan's feminism during an episode of The Last Leg.
The comedian reviewed the couple's new documentary and playfully criticized the Duchess of Sussex.
Joining him on the show was Judy Love from Loose Women, and together they discussed the Netflix series.
At the end of a momentous week for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Jimmy responded to their explosive six-part documentary.
He jokingly remarked, “I watched it.
There are some revelations in there.
I didn't realize that Harry's mother was Princess Diana.
If you haven't seen it, cover your ears because there's a spoiler: she dies.”
He then added, “It's a peculiar situation.
They're easy targets for jokes, but they genuinely seem like nice people.”
Despite his initial praise for the couple, he slyly continued, “But Meghan Markle, a lifelong feminist, as demonstrated by marrying a prince and giving up her job,” provoking an uneasy reaction from the audience.
Repeating that it was just a joke, Jimmy gauged the reception to his cheeky comment amidst muted applause.
Fellow guest Judy reassured the audience and viewers at home, urging them not to feel bad about the gag.
She even said, “No, you're allowed to applaud that,” while host Adam Hill squirmed in his seat.
Jimmy then delved into the topic of the Duke and Duchess' plea for privacy from the media, remarking, “Here's the thing, if you want privacy, don't make a documentary for Netflix.”
