Bob Iger Withdraws Disney Sponsorship from Invictus Games: Megan Banned from Closing Ceremonies

The Invictus Games, renowned for their incredible display of strength and resilience, have hit a roadblock.

, also known as the Duke of Sussex and the founder of the games, finds himself tangled in a web of complications.

Recently, a trailer was released for a five-part docuseries about the heart of Invictus, which Harry executive produced.

However, the reception has been far from ideal, leaving Netflix, the platform set to stream the series, in a precarious position.

Just two days after its release, the trailer garnered a modest viewership of 103,000.

The video received mixed reactions, with approximately 2.1 thousand likes and dislikes each, along with around 15,000 comments.

This is concerning for Netflix, as they heavily rely on the reception of trailers to gauge the potential success of a show.

In the past, they have canceled numerous shows or seasons due to poor trailer ratings.

The situation has escalated to the point where some viewers are even canceling their Netflix subscriptions in protest.

This turn of events is particularly shocking considering the show's noble intentions and significant investment.

Unfortunately, the blame falls on the show's hosts, Harry and Megan.

Even Disney, a major sponsor of the Invictus Games in previous years, decided to withdraw its sponsorship this year after learning that Megan would be participating in the closing ceremony.

In 2016, Disney expressed its enthusiasm for supporting the games through a statement to Invictus.

They stated that, in addition to honoring the competitors with a parade, they were thrilled to co-sponsor the opening and closing ceremonies.

Disney's strong connection to the armed forces, exemplified by their Heroes Work Here Hiring Initiative, made their involvement a natural fit.

However, in recent years, Disney has distanced itself from the games, severing ties with Invictus completely.

While Harry and Megan may have garnered fame and fortune over a short span of three years, their popularity in the United States remains a challenge.

It made headlines this year when their favorability ratings finally tipped back into positive territory after a significant decline following their separation from the royal family.

Interestingly, according to Gallup, is the most liked public figure in the United States.

Sources reveal that Disney's CEO, Bob Iger, holds great admiration for and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge.

He has expressed interest in collaborating with them on children's projects, seemingly disregarding any offers from Harry and Megan.

Ultimately, the responsibility for this predicament lies with the Duke and Duchess, who prioritized personal conflicts and emotional wounds over building a groundbreaking and impactful charity organization.

The future of Harry's docuseries remains uncertain, as Netflix evaluates its potential success amidst the backlash.

The Invictus Games, once a symbol of triumph, now face an uphill battle to reclaim their former glory.

Only time will tell if Harry and Megan can overcome these obstacles and regain the support they need to make a meaningful impact.
