Beatrice and Eugenie Find Solace in Each Other as They Mourn Queen’s Death

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were captured in a heartwarming moment, holding hands, in the first photographs taken of them since the passing of Queen Elizabeth.

The granddaughters of the late Queen were seen outside Balmoral Castle on Saturday, accompanied by their father Prince Andrew, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, his wife Sophie Wessex, their daughter Lady Louise Windsor, and Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips.

In the touching images, the sisters provided comfort to one another as they observed the flowers left by the public outside Balmoral Castle.

Princess Eugenie was visibly emotional, shedding tears, while her father Prince Andrew offered his support by placing an arm around her.

The royals, dressed in somber black attire, returned to Balmoral after attending a brief prayer service.

As they waved to the crowd of onlookers, applause broke out in a show of appreciation.

Princess Beatrice and Eugenie shared a close bond with their grandmother, but unfortunately, they were unable to be present at the time of her passing.

Eugenie currently resides in Portugal with her husband Jack Brooksbank, while Beatrice was unable to travel to Balmoral.

Queen Elizabeth passed away at the age of 96 at Balmoral on Thursday, with King Charles III and Princess Anne reportedly by her side.

Shortly after the palace announced the Queen's death, Charles released a statement expressing his profound grief.

He said, “We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished sovereign and a much-loved mother.

I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the realms, and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.

During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which the Queen was so widely held.”

Meanwhile, it has been reported by Hello magazine that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not received an invitation to a special state event in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth.

The event, hosted by King Charles III, is scheduled for Sunday, September 18, 2022, and will be attended by heads of states, official foreign guests, and working royals.

Prince Harry, Meghan, and Prince Andrew have been excluded from the guest list, as confirmed by a spokesperson from Buckingham Palace.

The palace statement further clarified, “The King and the Queen consort will host heads of state and official overseas guests at Buckingham Palace ahead of the state funeral of Her Majesty the Queen.

This will be an official state event.”

It is worth noting that Prince Harry, Meghan, and Andrew joined other senior members of the royal family in a procession behind the Queen's coffin as it was transported to Westminster Hall, where it now lies in state.

In another development, Prince Harry and Andrew have been prohibited from wearing their military uniforms at the Queen's funeral.

Only working royals have been granted this honor, although the two princes are allowed to wear their uniforms on other special occasions.

As preparations continue for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth, the King and the Queen consort will host heads of state and official overseas guests at Buckingham Palace.

This significant event will pay tribute to the life and legacy of Her Majesty the Queen.
