Andy Cohen Regrets Not Inviting Meghan Markle to “Watch What Happens Live”

Andy Cohen, the Bravo honcho, recently revealed his regret for not inviting to watch his show, “What Happens Live,” during her time on the hit TV series “Suits” and before she married .

In his newly released book, “Daddy Diaries,” Cohen explained that the Duchess of Sussex had expressed her interest in being a fan of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” but he had dismissed her as a potential guest.

However, reflecting on his decision, Cohen admitted in an exclusive interview with Page Six that he had made a huge mistake.

In his book, Cohen elaborated on his reasoning for passing on the offer, stating that he always felt that “Suits” seemed like a simulation of a TV show to him, as if it was shot on tape and broadcast in a vacuum.

However, he managed to reconcile with when he was one of three male guests to appear on her Archewell Audio podcast.

Cohen mentioned that he had been looking forward to saying the infamous line from her interview, “Were you silent or silenced?”

Unfortunately, the Duchess had no idea what he was referring to.

“Daddy Diaries” chronicles Cohen's life up until 2022, touching on various topics such as the birth of his daughter through a surrogate and his concerns about raising her and his four-year-old son, Ben, as a single father.

The book also delves into his experiences with the “Real Housewives” franchise, his quest for true love, and the renovations of his homes in New York City and the Hamptons.

Throughout the narrative, Cohen includes anecdotes featuring his famous friends, including Kelly Ripa, Sarah Jessica Parker, John Benjamin Hickey, Anderson Cooper, and Amy Sedaris.

In one particular chapter, Cohen writes about trying nasal ketamine spray with Sedaris before heading out to eat at the Polo Bar.

He jokingly mentions that it wasn't a big deal but admits that they were both “off our heads” for about half an hour.

However, becoming a father prompted Cohen to make significant changes in his lifestyle, including reducing his consumption of edibles and alcohol.

He reflects on this transformation, stating, “In August, I subtitled this book, ‘The Year I Grew Up,' and I really meant it.”

Cohen realized that being a father of two required a shift in his priorities, leading him to become more of a homebody.

He further emphasized this change, sharing, “From August on, I'm home almost every night, and I'm barely drinking.

So, I really did a shift in my life, and it's actually been really beneficial.”

Cohen attributes part of this personal growth to writing his diary, which served as a therapeutic outlet for him to confront his emotions rather than ignore them.

Despite his involvement in the drama of reality TV, Cohen acknowledges its place and understands the importance of maintaining boundaries.
