A Night of Celebration and Service: Honoring King’s Dedication to Others

Good evening, your majesties.

Windsor was filled with gratitude and joy as we came together to commemorate a truly special evening.

The occasion provided an opportunity for me to share a few words about my father and why this weekend holds such significance.

However, rest assured, I won’t keep you here all night like Lionel.

As my grandmother once said during her coronation, these ceremonies symbolize our aspirations for the future.

And I firmly believe that she watches over us from above, a proud and loving mother.

Amidst the grandeur of the festivities lies a simple yet profound message: service.

Upon entering Westminster Abbey yesterday, my father’s first words were a solemn pledge to serve.

For more than five decades, he has dedicated himself to serving others, in every corner of the UK, across the Commonwealth, and around the globe.

His commitment extends not only to the present generation but also to those who came before us and should never be forgotten.

Consider his early warnings about the perils facing our planet’s well-being, long before environmental concerns became mainstream.

Reflect on the Prince’s Trust, an organization that has supported over a million young individuals, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, in realizing their dreams.

Most significantly, my father has always emphasized the importance of celebrating and supporting people of all faiths, backgrounds, and communities.

Pa, we are immensely proud of you.

I would also like to express my deep appreciation for the millions of individuals who serve our nation, whether in the armed forces, classrooms, hospital wards, or local communities.

While it is impossible to mention each one individually, please know that your dedication inspires us all.
