Meghan Markle’s Controversial Encounter with Harry’s Friends at a Jamaican Wedding
In 2017, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves in an awkward situation at the wedding of Harry's best friend and wingman, Tom Skippy Inskip, in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Interestingly, this location held special significance for Meghan, as she had tied the knot with her first husband, film producer Trevor Engelson, at a nearby resort in 2011.
However, Meghan's attendance at the wedding was not by invitation.
At the time, Harry and Meghan had broken up multiple times, and Meghan, aware of Harry's plans to attend the wedding, decided to fly herself down to the location and essentially gatecrash the event.
Photographs from the wedding reveal Meghan's displeasure at other people vying for Harry's attention, while Harry himself appeared visibly uncomfortable with Meghan's presence.
The incident shed light on Meghan's true colors, leaving some to question Harry's judgment in ignoring warning signs of her alleged narcissism.
Fast forward to May 2018, when Harry and Meghan exchanged vows in their own highly anticipated wedding.
Skippy, along with Harry's other closest friends, attended the church service and reception.
However, many were left off the guest list for the private evening party at Frogmore House.
This exclusion was seen by some as payback from Meghan, who apparently never forgets.
According to royal author Tom Bower, Prince Harry displayed a violent outburst during a three-day party in Jamaica, puzzling some of his long-time friends.
Bower recounted the incident, stating that Harry, aware of the media interest surrounding his first public appearance with Meghan, became incensed upon spotting a photographer in the bushes.
This violent outburst surprised his friends, considering similar incidents in Harry's past.
Bower also suggested that the incident further fueled suspicion among Harry's inner circle regarding Meghan.
The introduction of Meghan to Prince Harry's oldest friends and their families took place in March 2017, during the wedding of Tom Skippy Inskip.
Bower claimed that this close-knit group, eager to meet the woman loved by the Duke, were quickly disappointed.
According to the author, a pivotal moment occurred during the couple's trip to Jamaica, where Meghan's behavior left a lasting impression.
Bower revealed that Meghan arrived via a friend's private jet, while Harry flew premium economy from London.
Approximately 40 guests, including Harry's oldest friends, gathered at the Round Hill Hotel in Montego Bay for the three-day celebration.
Some of the parents present fondly recalled providing Harry with comfort and cottage pie during his teenage years.
However, Meghan's conduct left much to be desired.
She not only complained about the food but also exhibited princess-like behavior, refusing to engage with Harry's friends.
Bower further disclosed that Meghan had confronted Harry's friends during a meeting at Sandringham in 2016.
Meghan took issue with their jokes about sexism, feminism, and transgender people, repeatedly calling them out.
This encounter left Harry's friends with the impression that Meghan was a dampener on the party, leading one of them to even remark, “Harry must be fucking nuts for dating her.”
Meghan's lack of humor and inability to take a joke further solidified this sentiment.
In his book, Bower described the aftermath of the meeting, as texts flew between the cars on the way home from Sunday lunch.
The friends were left astounded by Meghan's behavior, with one exclaiming, “Oh my god, what about her?”
