Queen Elizabeth II’s Dressmaker Reveals Hilarious Prank on Monarch

In a surprising revelation, Angela Kelly, the dressmaker and confidante of Queen Elizabeth II, has unveiled a hilarious prank she played on the Queen during her royal tour in Australia back in 2006.

Kelly, who has been a long-time aide to the monarch, recounted the incident in her book, “The Other Side of the Coin, The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe,” which was authorized by Queen Elizabeth herself.

During their visit to Sydney, the Queen expressed her excitement about seeing the kookaburra bird, which is native to Australia and New Guinea.

Taking advantage of this, Kelly found a soft toy version of the bird at a market while the Queen was attending an engagement.

She then devised a plan to play a prank on Her Majesty.

Upon the Queen's return, Kelly informed her about a “funny-looking grey bird” on her balcony.

The Queen rushed to see it and exclaimed, “Oh, it's a kookaburra!”

Unbeknownst to the Queen, Kelly had placed the toy bird in a little cage on the balcony.

When Kelly attempted to open the cage doors, the Queen anxiously stopped her, fearing the bird would fly away.

At this point, Kelly revealed that the bird was actually dead, leading to a shocked reaction from the Queen.

With a mischievous grin, Kelly exclaimed, “April Fool!”

The Queen responded with humor, saying, “You're sacked.”
